The Roadstone Winguard Ice SUV winter tire is an identical copy of the same-name model from the South Korean company Nexen. It, in turn, was developed based on a tire for passenger cars, which has proven itself on them in the best possible way. The most significant advantages of this model are excellent traction on snowy and icy surfaces, high braking efficiency, and excellent acoustic and driving comfort. The tread pattern of this model is characterized by an original design of the drainage system, which has an unusual arrangement and shape of the elements that make it up, and has a wide range of functions. We are talking about double V-shaped drainage grooves located both in the center of the tread and in its shoulder areas. The small angle of inclination, combined with a different width, allows them to increase the tire's performance, both on snow and on ice. This is especially evident during longitudinal accelerations, i.e., during acceleration and braking.

The V-shaped drainage grooves located in the very center of the tread perform other functions. The minimum width allows them to serve as a support point for the blocks located here. At the same time, their arrow-shaped form and massive size give them stability in three planes. The practical result of such a solution is improved stability of the tire's coupling properties, which, in turn, makes it easier to control the vehicle in unfavorable weather conditions, as well as when driving at high speeds.

Reliable handling in bad weather

The aforementioned drainage system has another significant advantage. It demonstrates high efficiency in removing water and heavy snow masses from the contact patch. Universality is ensured by two factors - the increased number of longitudinal grooves, up to 4, and the significant internal volume of these drainage elements, as well as the transverse grooves in the shoulder areas of the tread.
