Kormoran Snow
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Kormoran Snow
The Kormoran Snow winter tire is designed for passenger cars of various classes. Its wide applicability is achieved by an assortment of several dozen sizes for wheels with diameters from 15 to 18 inches. Developed by Michelin specifically for the French conglomerate's subsidiary brands. Characterized by increased reliability in complex road conditions and pronounced fuel-saving properties.
“Micro-ribs” inside the drainage channels
The tire uses several non-standard technical solutions. One of them is the so-called “micro-ribs” inside the longitudinal drainage grooves in the central part. These elements additionally enhance the traction properties on snow, forming numerous sharp edges.
Increased lamella density
The tread pattern is characterized by an increased density of narrow slits. In total, they form several thousand very sharp edges, with which the tire reliably grips the slippery surface. The transverse arrangement of these elements provides it with excellent efficiency during acceleration and deceleration.
Resistance to slushplaning
A distinctive feature of the tire is its increased reliability in complex road conditions. To a large extent, this is achieved due to the increased number and internal volume of drainage grooves. Those located in the central part are directed against the movement, which allows the tread to use the rotation force to divert water and its mixture with snow. This significantly enhances resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning.
Main features of the Kormoran Snow model
- “micro-ribs” inside the central drainage grooves enhance traction on snow;
- increased density of lamella arrangement ensures reliable behavior on ice;
- wide and anti-directional drainage grooves in the central part prevent slushplaning.

My review of tires. So. To say honestly - I am surprised. I ran a set of summer tires, Cornor, in principle, was satisfied with them except for the rapid wear, and therefore decided to take the winter "lipuchka" Cornor.
Winter 2019-20 with snow did not please us, let's say it was a European winter, and here is the winter to which these tires are perfectly suited!!!! On bare ice, of course, they behave not very

I bought it out of curiosity to replace the friction Goodyear. I wanted to compare one of the most expensive tires with one of the cheapest. The result of the experiment exceeded all expectations. It clears snow like a tractor, grips very well on frozen asphalt, confidently on wet asphalt, and in the spring on hot asphalt it doesn't float, it holds the trajectory. On ice, of course, it grips as much as it can, here the adherents of studded tires can gloat, but in everything else - it's all very, very decent. One minus - after a expensive tire, it seems noisy. In short, the tire is worth its money, no doubt. To those who doubt - don't doubt.

Acquired these tyres on a trip to Bulgaria with METRO for a steal. Balanced to 30g on the wheel! My car is a 275 horsepower rear-wheel drive, and this winter in Krasnodar Krai decided not to show any snow - it happens. European winters have it. Ice took hold in some places. I was simply delighted with the wheels in all respects - price/quality, handling/ aquaplaning - 5+!!! Respect to Serbia and Michelin
