Gislaved SpikeControl SUV – winter tire, the scope of which includes a wide range of SUVs and off-road vehicles. The model is a 2025 novelty and combines advanced developments of the German manufacturer. In particular, it is resistant to skidding, has stable behavior on a snowy road and maintains working properties in a wide temperature range.
The feature of the tread pattern is the presence of numerous grooves, located in a certain sequence and at different angles. In combination with the overall direction of the tread, this provides reliable traction, both on slippery and snowy roads. To this should be added the presence of spikes of a special shape, which effectively fix the tire on the icy road, ensuring stability of driving characteristics of the vehicle.
Due to the direction of the elements, a drainage system was formed, which can quickly evacuate contaminants, maintaining performance in various weather conditions.
An important aspect in ensuring the stability of tire fixation on a winter road is also the compound. Its composition was optimized with regard to operation at various temperature regimes. This is largely due to the presence of silica, as well as a number of other components, the mixture of which maintains the level of elasticity.

Before this, I had Gislaved Nord Frost 200 SUV, which fully justified itself and did not fail, but the studs wore out and I decided to take the same one, but here I saw the novelty SpikeControl SUV - it is announced as a copy of the departed brand, which in terms of price and quality was an order of magnitude higher, I decided to try it, a full assessment can be made after the end of winter, now only the first impressions:
1. The tread is the same as that of the departed brand
2. The studs are different, rectangular, which are installed on Ikon, as written, made in the Russian Federation - they look like blades, after 700 km on asphalt and the first ice, everything is in place and there are no unfolded ones
3. Noise... the first 100 km is like an airplane noise and hum, you want to get out of the car; 100-300 km became quieter but the noise is palpable, after 500 km the noise became comfortable but it is - let's see what will happen next and when the full snow falls. Nord Frost 200 SUV was initially much quieter.
4. I ran in mainly on asphalt: it holds well, there is no aquaplaning. On morning smooth ice, the car goes like poured without jerking, stable speed gain in turns holds like poured.A complete impression will be after a complete winter, when I drive on ice and snow and slush (operation in the Murmansk region), in the spring I will try to supplement the review.
Initially, it's okay, if you believe that the noise will decrease. The departed manufacturer, from which the production of these tires was taken, was used on another car and was satisfied.
I would take it again, but I'm not ready to say, I would definitely take Nord Frost 200 SUV if there was no SpikeControl SUV- Vehicle:

Good tires, they handle their tasks well, they hold the road perfectly, they are great on ice, not noisy, soft, and the price-quality ratio is at a high level. I don't regret the purchase, I recommend it to everyone!

Studded winter tires, an analogue of Vredestein, with the same tread pattern and studs, just a different label, hope they don't concede, bought a second set for Mazda CX-3, previously bought for Toyota RAV4, will see how they behave in winter, think I didn't make a mistake with the purchase.
