The Citroen C4 Aircross has been part of the French brand's model lineup since 2012. Initially, the vehicle was one of the variants of the Mitsubishi ASX, and after 2018, it became a model of its own development, mainly intended for the Chinese market.

The vehicle shown in 2012 was a copy of the compact crossover Mitsubishi ASX, created on the GS platform, which it shared with most compact models of the Japanese brand in the C segment. Even the base versions offered seven airbags, air conditioning, a CD player with the ability to connect a flash drive with MP3 files, and electric rearview mirrors. The "mid-range" trim added cruise and climate control, fog lights, and alloy wheels to this set. The most equipped Exclusive version made available a display that showed the image from the rearview camera and satellite navigation system, front seats with electric adjustments and heating, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels.

Second Generation

In 2018, the next-generation vehicle was released. This was a different car, having no technical or visual connection to its predecessor. It was created on the basis of the C3 Aircross crossover with a modernized platform, differing in an increased distance between the axles - plus 51 mm, as well as an extended rear overhang by 120 mm. Like the "original", the lower part of the doors featured plastic trim with "bubbles" that improved the aerodynamic properties of the body. The engine range started with a 1.2-liter turbocharged "triple" from the PureTech family in the most powerful version - 136 horsepower. An alternative to it was a more "adult" 4-cylinder engine - 1.6 liters and 167 horsepower. The "base" power unit was combined with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, and the more powerful one was exclusively paired with an "automatic".
