The Citroen C-Crosser was present in the production range of the French brand from 2007 to 2012. The car represented one of the variants of the Mitsubishi Outlander crossover of the second generation, differing from it by a number of characteristic features. Initially, the Nedcar plant in the Netherlands was planned to be used for its production, but this was prevented by low sales of the model, as a result of which all sold copies were released in Japan at the Mitsubishi plant.Key differences
This crossover differed from the original model of the Japanese brand, first of all, by a redesigned front part, the design of which was carried out in the current style of the French brand at that time. This led to the use of a different hood, headlights, radiator grille and front bumper. The standard equipment of the crossover included aluminum wheels of original design.The salon stood out for the presence in the standard equipment of a third row of seats, which, when folded together with the second row, formed a massive cargo area with a flat floor. The second row had longitudinal adjustment, allowing, depending on the needs, to provide passengers with more legroom or increase the volume of the luggage compartment. In technical terms, the crossover was practically identical to the "original" Japanese brand, except for the engine range, from which the least powerful 2-liter gasoline engine was excluded. In the base version, the car offered a 2.4-liter "four" with the MIVEC system developed by Mitsubishi with a capacity of 170 horsepower. An alternative to it was a diesel engine with a turbocharger with a volume of 2.2 liters from the PSA concern, developing 156 horsepower and 380 Nm. Depending on the version, the power unit worked in "pair" with 6-speed manual or robotic transmission, as well as with front-wheel drive or with the INVECS all-wheel drive system of the third iteration.
