The Citroen Berlingo Multispace is a passenger version of a compact commercial vehicle. However, the most suitable for this car were diesel engines with a volume of 1.6 to 2 liters, "borrowed" from the commercial vans of the PSA concern.

Second Generation

In 2008, the second iteration was presented. This time, the PF2 platform from Citroen C4 was used. For this reason, the model turned out to be slightly larger than its predecessor and much more expensive, representing a compact minivan that surpasses almost all its "classmates" in terms of the volume of the passenger compartment. Another difference from the previous model was the range of engines, which was reduced to two power units. The "base" one was an in-line petrol "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters, available in two versions, with a power of 75 or 100 hp. An alternative to it was the Prince family engine of the same volume, developed jointly with BMW. However, the most popular in Europe were versions with a diesel engine DV6 of the same volume, also presented with several degrees of boost, with a power range from 75 to 120 hp.

Third Generation

The passenger van of the third generation debuted in 2018. The car used a new modular platform EMP2 of its own design, which differed in a wide variability in the length of the wheelbase and the layout of the suspension. These possibilities were later implemented through the inclusion in the lineup of a large number of modifications. For all versions, a sufficiently wide range of engines is offered. Moreover, for the European market, the manufacturer offers exclusively "electric" engines with a power of 134 hp and a range of up to 330 km. For other countries, modifications with internal combustion engines remain available, of which only the petrol "trio" with a turbocharger and a volume of 1.2 liters is new.
