European version

The car, presented in 2005, was created "based on" the Citroen C6 Lignage concept car, shown in the spring of 1999. The base versions were equipped with a 2.7-liter V6 diesel engine with 204 horsepower. In the summer of 2009, it was replaced by a 3-liter engine of the same configuration, producing 240 horsepower. An alternative to it was a 3-liter V6 gasoline engine with 211 horsepower.

Chinese version

Four years after the car was discontinued in Europe, it reappeared in the production range of the French brand, but this time "settled" in a joint venture in China. Technically, the car was a copy of the Dongfeng Aeolus A9 sedan, using a platform from the Peugeot 508 and Citroen C5, in a modified version with a wheelbase increased to 2900 mm, just like the "original" from 2005. Along with the concave rear window, this is all that reminded of the legendary predecessor.

The significant size of the wheelbase made the salon quite spacious. It was distinguished by a "French" design with characteristic steering wheel and switches under it. The instrument panel is a wide-format display with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, on which you can display not only instrument readings but also navigation and music data. Rear passengers are offered a separate climate control system with two temperature zones, seats with heating, ventilation, massage, and electric adjustment of the backrest tilt mechanism, along with a panoramic roof.

In technical terms, the car is a copy of the similar Dongfeng sedan, differing in a classic chassis with springs and shock absorbers and a single engine. This is an in-line turbocharged 1.8-liter "four" producing 204 horsepower and 280 Nm. The power unit works in tandem with a 6-speed hydromechanical "automatic".
