DescriptionDescription Michelin Agilis Alpin
Michelin Agilis Alpin winter tires are further proof of one of the world's leading tire industry leaders' commitment to providing a high level of traffic safety during the winter period. This model, designed for light commercial vehicles, is distinguished by increased durability, a long service life, and a high level of safety.
Thanks to the innovative design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, compared to its predecessor, the Agilis 81 Snow Ice model, it was possible to significantly reduce the braking distance on a slippery road, as well as significantly improve traction on various types of surfaces. In addition, the tire's service life has increased by 20%, which is a lot, considering the tire's purpose.
One of the key features of the tread pattern design is the presence of numerous grooves and blocks in the shoulder areas, which made it possible to ensure the tire's Michelin Agilis Alpin passability in deep snow. In addition, the original shape of the blocks in the shoulder areas helps to throw snow to the side, which allows for more reliable traction.
In order to provide better traction when driving on icy surfaces, French tire engineers used the Durable Contact Patch technology, which made it possible to give the contact patch a square shape, resulting in an increase in the contact patch area of almost a third.
In addition, another innovative development of the company was used in this model, namely the StabiliGrip technology, previously used mainly in passenger winter tires. This technology involves equipping the tire tread with an increased number of lamellas that close on each other depending on the effort applied to the tire during acceleration or braking.
Main features of Michelin Agilis Alpin
- the increased, thanks to the Durable Contact Patch technology, contact patch provides more reliable traction on various types of surfaces;
- numerous three-dimensional StabiliGrip lamellas provide excellent traction with icy coatings, as well as increase the stiffness of all tread elements;
- excellent protection against various mechanical stress, thanks to a durable double carcass, as well as special inserts that protect the sidewalls from damage.

The tire is excellent, I've been buying it for the last 5 years. It satisfies all my needs 100%. The mileage is 90% on the highway. In 2022, I will be looking for an alternative, 20R per wheel is too expensive.
