All-season passenger tire Maxxis MA-AS, produced by the world-famous Taiwanese manufacturer, is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars.

The design of the symmetrical tread pattern has a fairly aggressive appearance. The tread pattern of the tire features two wide ribs located in the central part of the tread, and two also wide shoulder zones with a rounded profile.

The two central ribs are divided by a multitude of diagonal channels, which actually turn them into two rows of massive blocks. In addition to improving the efficiency of removing snow, water, and mud from the contact patch, this solution allows for a significant improvement in traction and coupling characteristics on slippery surfaces, as well as when driving on uncleared roads. Moreover, the large width of the central ribs contributes to an increase in the tire's contact area, which significantly improves the tire's grip on dry pavement.

The stability and safety of the Maxxis MA-AS tire when driving on wet roads are ensured by three longitudinal grooves, which quickly and efficiently remove water and meltwater from the tire's contact patch. The reinforced shoulder zones also increase the tire's contact patch, which improves traction not only when driving in a straight line but also when cornering. The rounded profile of the shoulder zones is a reliable and time-tested means of combating uneven wear that occurs due to tire deformation under lateral loads. Additionally, the shoulder zones of the tread are divided into separate blocks by transverse channels, the sharp edges of which further improve the traction characteristics when driving on various types of surfaces.

Another distinctive feature of this tire is the multitude of transverse lamellas of a wavy shape, with which the entire tread pattern is literally dotted. This made it possible to significantly improve the tire's grip on snow-covered and icy surfaces without compromising the stiffness of all tread elements.
