DescriptionDescription Cooper Discoverer HTS
The operational properties of the Cooper Discoverer HTS summer tire are tailored to the design features and characteristics of medium- and full-size passenger cars. It stands out for its good balance of operational properties, simultaneously demonstrating stable traction, reliable predictable behavior in complex conditions, smooth ride, and acoustic comfort.
The tread pattern features a directional asymmetric arrangement of elements. This design is characterized by an increased number of blocks, which form two functional areas. The elements located on the inside create very long transverse edges that improve the tread's performance during acceleration and braking. The outside of the tread features massive blocks and narrow ribs that rigidly connect them in groups of two elements each. This design enhances stability during straight-line driving, especially at high speeds, as well as the speed and accuracy of the tire's response to the driver's actions.
The tire is distinguished by its very high resistance to aquaplaning. This is largely due to the increased number of drainage grooves and their location. A significant portion of them is directed against the direction of motion, which allows the rotation of the wheel to be used for water drainage. Additionally, the tread is equipped with lamellas that further enhance traction on wet surfaces.
Key Features of Cooper Discoverer HTS
- The tread pattern with asymmetric block arrangement is effective in any conditions;
- Low risk of aquaplaning due to the large number of drainage grooves;
- A large number of lamellas provides a contact patch with sharp traction edges.

The tires were new from the salon on Haval. They served for three seasons. The summer mileage on them is 65,000 km. They wore down to 1 mm. The tires remained even, strong and reliable until the limit of wear. Balancing every spring was ideal. Up to a mileage of 10,000 km, it was noisy, then it ran in. The directional stability at high speed is at a high level on dry roads up to 160 km/h. On wet roads, you need to be more careful, no more than 120 km/h. Aquaplaning does not occur up to 80 km/h, but as the tread wore out, it got worse. On dirt roads and gravel, it shakes quite a bit, but it doesn't puncture even on rocky terrain in the mountains.

The car had this tire from the salon. I drove 2 seasons (39,000 km) and had to throw it away, the tread remainder is minimal. As they said at the tire shop, it would have been enough for 2 months.

I bought a used one with 5000km on it, and at the tire mounting place, they said: "Oh, China, it's going to be a struggle!" But when I was balancing, the worker was shocked, said the tires were out of balance by 5 points! Let's see how it will behave in operation. For now, there are no issues on dry and wet pavement!
