Aeolus AS02 Cross Ace
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Aeolus AS02 Cross Ace
The summer passenger tire Aeolus AS02 Cross Ace is the first model of this well-known Chinese manufacturer designed for SUVs. The novelty belongs to the H/T (High Terrain) category models. This means that the main specialization of this tire is asphalt roads. However, its tread pattern contains a sufficient number of cutting edges to handle light off-road driving if necessary. The size range of the model is designed with its use on compact and medium-sized crossovers with a wheel diameter of 15 inches or more.
Excellent efficiency at high speed
Chinese tire manufacturers have equipped the Aeolus AS02 Cross Ace tire with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern. Its central part is occupied by three longitudinal ribs. This design provides excellent directional stability even at high speeds. Additionally, due to the rigid construction of the central rib, the company's specialists were able to significantly reduce the tire's response time to steering wheel turns. As a result, handling has become more refined.
Superb maneuverability stability
More than half of the tread pattern area is occupied by shoulder zones. Each of them is a row of very massive rectangular blocks. Their large size has made it possible to significantly increase the tire's resistance to deformation caused by lateral acceleration forces. As a result, when driving in turns, the tire demonstrates excellent stability and resistance to lateral skidding.
Another feature of the shoulder zones of the tread is the arrangement of rectangular blocks. Their long edges are directed almost perpendicularly to the direction of movement. Thanks to this, it was possible to significantly reduce the braking distance, especially on wet roads.
Main features of the Aeolus AS02 Cross Ace tire
- the tire is specifically designed for compact crossovers, which are mainly used on asphalt roads;
- the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern has a large contact patch area, which provides excellent traction on asphalt;
- the rigid central rib provides a refined handling character;
- the reinforced shoulder zones of the tread allow the tire to demonstrate confident behavior when cornering.

Replaced my original Bridgestone with these, so I can compare them. The Aerlus is quieter, but other than that I don't notice a difference, except for the price. Balancing was good, they added 35 grams to one wheel, and the others around 10; 15; and 20 grams, but this depends on who is doing it, as I learned firsthand. It's too early to judge wear as I've only done one season (looks like new)

I've only bought it as a summer tyre. The tyre is absolutely worth its money. It grips the road dry and wet just as well as you could ask for, and the noise level is average, much quieter than the Hankook Optimo K415 (standard summer tyres on the Sportage). It would probably be too weak for winter, although to be honest, I haven't tried it on snow and ice at all, and it can probably be used in transitional seasons. I've taken out

I'll be honest, I didn't get to drive much as it snowed and the temperature dropped below zero. However, my impression of the tire is positive, I thought it would be worse. The only thing I didn't like right off the bat was how it's built on a 6.5-inch rim, whether it's an overextension, despite the correct dimensions. I'm not going to overrate it so I don't mislead people.
