20 years of driving experience. I've driven everything that's driven. I know how to drive, even with my back to the wheel, even backwards, or even with my feet. This is a preface to help you understand that the reviewer is an experienced driver who loves driving. Let's go! Dear people, I've read so many positive reviews about this tire, and I just want to ask you, have you ever driven on anything other than this tire? Have you ever driven on summer

Hello.
I bought these tires in early 2021, when due to the large amount of snow on the roads, it became clear that it was no longer safe to move around on my old tires. Previously, I had Gislaved Nord Frost 5, which had served me honestly for 14 years, with more than half of the studs still intact. The total mileage on the car is 180,000 km, but when cornering, the rear of the car would often try to overtake me.
I'll note that I drive carefully and at a moderate pace, without any intention of participating in street racing or the Dakar Rally.
So, the Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 tires were purchased on the principle of "what's available here and now, within this budget," since I had a long trip planned for the next day.
I replaced the tires and drove on a cleared highway for about 1300 km. The break-in period was in a gentle mode, as if by order. My first impressions of the tires were that they were quite quiet, as far as studded tires go.
There was no howling or humming, just a slight rustling of the studs and a subtle noise. The handling was predictable and clear. The reaction to lane changes and cornering did not cause any discomfort, tension, or excessive attention. The tires also performed well on snowy roads. When overtaking, they confidently held their course, even when driving on uncleared sections of the road.
As for city driving, with its uncleared courtyards, snowy slush, ice, and ruts, I'm completely satisfied. The tires grip the road excellently. Exiting icy ruts when parking in a courtyard was not a problem. When driving on snowy slush, the tires throw out a significant amount of snow from under the wheels. The tread clears very effectively.
I'll say that at the time of purchasing the Yokohama tires, I had a negative attitude towards this brand. There was an incident where we bought a car with Yokohama tires, bought it in the winter, and immediately changed the tires to winter ones at the dealership. The summer tires were stored in a heated garage, along with other tires, since the garage was a company garage and there were many tires stored there.
When it was time to change the tires to summer ones, we were unpleasantly surprised to find that the tires, which had not been driven on, had become unusable. All the wheels had cracked! The cracks were very deep and long, up to 3 mm deep. We filed a complaint with the Yokohama representative office and received a response that we were to blame for the damage, that we had stored the tires incorrectly. However, tires from other manufacturers, stored in the same conditions for many years, did not produce such results.
I didn't experience any such issues with the Yokohama IG55. Storage in a regular garage after the winter season did not cause any visible deterioration.
In conclusion, I'm satisfied with the purchase. All the studs are still in place, and there are no cracks, bulges, or other problems. The balancing required a maximum of 30 grams per wheel.
In the second season, rebalancing was not required.

Not one for a lot of talk. Got a new car this summer. Spent a long time choosing winter tyres and in the end opted for the Arctic. The tyres are definitely EXCELLENT rather than good. The weather these days is unpredictable: temperature drops from -20 in the morning to -5 by evening. The car handles well, grips in corners and pulls strongly up hills. I wouldn’t advise, but I RECOMMEND. With the IG55 LUCK is closer on the

Decent tire for the price. I bought it on sale, so I guess I got a 3-year-old one, which was a letdown. However, at the tire shop, they told me that if it was stored properly, it should be fine and can last for a long time. So, be sure to ask about the production date beforehand. Overall, a good tire, handles well on both asphalt and snow, not too noisy.

After a couple of months, I add a review (G55 R18). I've covered another 5,000km on it, and the stable drawbacks are that the ABS kicks in on ice and the braking distance increases, as if there are no studs, so I'm carefully increasing the distance all the time. The way it handles in the snow has remained the same, and sometimes it's unpredictable, especially when overtaking, it can kick out. From the + after the break-in,

Size 195/60 R15. I'll say right away that I have nothing to compare it to, the car is very old, buying something new is like a holiday, before that I drove (very rarely) on bald tires in the winter, on slightly wet or dry winter "slicks" there are no competitors, but on the new tires the car brakes very weakly on completely dry asphalt at almost zero temperature, about like summer tires at +35 on heated asphalt (yes, I'm that kind of driver), but it drives very confidently on snow, a week ago I drove 1600 km on the highway, from floating and howling dry asphalt I got into a strong blizzard and on the road 2-3 cm of snow porridge formed instantly, and then also rolled ice, I was driving 80 km/h in shock and didn't slow down in turns, like in summer, the rear axle didn't skid. On a snowy road, the tire is absolutely silent, on asphalt it's quieter than new summer tires (because of which my life almost ended, very weak tire, but that's a completely different story), I was in Yokohama so confident and calm that I didn't see a white pit on a white road at speed, as a result, I strongly bent the disc, but surprisingly the wheel didn't deflate, and the tire remained completely intact, even surprisingly how it survived, the rest 400-500 km had to be driven on a spare tire, to date, the tire mileage for 1 month is about 3 thousand km, not a single stud has been lost, let's see how it will behave in the cold, if the car starts:)

Guys, I just bought this, and after +9 degrees, I changed the shoes, what they write on the dry asphalt doesn't stop at + lie, I have a summer KAMAZ 225 and it brakes even worse, I can barely hear the sound of the studs, in general, when I'm coming onto wet asphalt, I can hear the rubber squeaking like a pierced sole of a boot when you step into a puddle, I think this is a sign of the tire

A good implementation - it was pleasantly surprised with the presence of orange oil in the mix, but apparently that's what it needs, the design is non-trivial, the ride height is excellent. I drove through the winter and understood that after this I won't translate the car to the products of the mass production, a Japanese car is a Japanese car and it handles the work perfectly, it enters the turns flawlessly, fuel consumption, as usual, is in line with the manufacturer's claims.

Normal tire, considering its price, it's great. I mostly drive in the city, but we do get black ice quite often, it holds the course confidently, doesn't understeer on turns, unless you push it, and normally drive it) I'm completely satisfied with it after one incomplete season of use.

The tire is a month old. I don't drive fast (up to 90 km/h). I drove at a temperature range of +5 to -8 degrees. All city, not snowed (off-road not used). It takes off perfectly even on slippery asphalt. Only one balloon bothers me: after a speed of 40 km/h a rhythmic hum (like unbalance due to poor storage before purchase; despite all being rebalanced at the tire shop). The studs are in place
