Tires on Cadillac (Кадиллак)

Currently, the Cadillac Motor Car Division is one of the divisions of the American concern General Motors. Its role in the structure is to design and manufacture passenger cars of the "luxury" class. The main markets for them are the USA, Canada, and China, but at the same time, the brand's models are present in 34 countries around the world. Historically, Cadillac cars have occupied leading positions in the domestic market, but at the same time, they have been losing ground to European brands offering "luxury" cars, primarily from BMW and Mercedes-Benz since the 2000s.

History of the "early ages"

Cadillac was created from the remnants of Henry Ford's company, which he left after a dispute with investors in March 1902. Along with Ford, the company also lost several key partners, William Murphy and Lemuel Bowen, who provided financing for the new project and personnel. In particular, they attracted Henry M. Leland from Leland & Faulconer Manufacturing Company, who conducted an assessment of the company's remaining production assets, which were then being prepared for sale. Instead, Leland convinced the pair of investors to continue producing cars, offering their own development - a proven single-cylinder engine - as a power unit. As a result, on August 22, 1902, the Cadillac Automobile Company was registered at the Detroit plant, named after the French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, who founded the fur trading post of Detroit in 1701.

Cadillac today

The modern history of the brand began in 2000, when the company introduced a new design for future models, calling it "Art and Science". Its features were sharp, clear forms and edges, expressing boldness and high technology used in car creation. The first of these were the CTS and XLR models. At that time, the lineup was represented mainly by sedans, roadsters, crossovers, and SUVs with rear or all-wheel drive. The only exception was the BLS model, which was a Saab 9-3. In 2006, an aluminum 8-cylinder L37 engine was added to the updated design, which was installed on almost all cars for the mass market. Sports models received an overhead valve V8 engine with a volume of 6.2 liters, and the first of these was the second-generation CTS-V sedan, introduced in 2009, which set a record for passing the Nurburgring track for serial cars. Intensive development of the high-performance sedan lineup took place throughout the 2010s, and then the company's attention shifted to crossovers. For these cars, it is necessary to use tires with sufficiently specific characteristics. A large number of such tires can be found in the catalog of the "Mosavtoshina" online store.
