The Cadillac CT6 is a premium sedan, the first generation of which was produced from 2016 to 2020. After that, it was discontinued due to low demand and the manufacturer's desire to produce more electric vehicles (the factory where the car was produced was converted to meet new challenges). Throughout the entire period, the model was positioned as a flagship, offering owners a huge set of options that improve comfort and safety while driving. The model was revived in 2023, again presented as a flagship of the line.

Generation 1

The luxury segment car was built on a completely new platform, which initially assumed rear-wheel drive. It was also possible to install all-wheel drive as an option. The model was focused on the markets of North America, China, Europe, Japan, and others.

Initially, a small two-liter turbocharged engine with 265 horsepower was installed under the hood, as well as more powerful V6 engines with 3.6 and 3.0 liters (with double turbocharging). Their power reached 365 and 404 horsepower, respectively. Later, the most complex engine in terms of production, the V8 4.2-liter engine with turbocharging, appeared in the lineup. Its maximum power output reached 550 horsepower.

Among the equipment, it is worth noting the Bose audio system, which has only 8 speakers in the basic configuration, but in the maximum configuration, their number reaches 34. Starting from 2017, the semi-autonomous driving system GM Super Cruise became available. It is equipped with lane tracking sensors, 360-degree cameras, a driver state monitoring camera, and more.

Generation 2

After several years of hiatus, the second generation emerged in 2023. The car is now more focused on the Chinese market. Nevertheless, its exterior design is maintained in the strict traditions of the luxury automotive industry – narrowed headlights, stylish radiator grille. The platform used and all the main proportions have been transferred from the previous generation. The sedan now uses more "winged" metal, making its structure lighter.

For the Chinese version, a two-liter engine with 237 horsepower is installed under the hood. For the domestic market, V6 3.2-liter and V8 4.2-liter engines are available. The transmission is only one – a classic 10-position "automatic". As for the drive, the base configuration is rear-wheel drive, but it is also possible to install all-wheel drive as an option. For an additional fee, you can install Magnetic Ride shock absorbers, which provide automatic adjustment of the clearance depending on road conditions and improve the smoothness of the ride.

Special attention should be paid to the salon, where Nappa leather, wooden inserts, and high-quality plastic were used for decoration. A large 33-inch block of touch screens is located on the central panel. This is the manufacturer's first such experience. Since the car is more focused on rear passengers, more space has been allocated for them than for the first row.
