Tyre reviews Yokohama Ice Guard IG50+. Page 1 600

In November, I purchased the Yokohama Ice Guard IG50+ tires at the Mosavtochina shop on Ogorodnyy Pereulok 9A. Since then, I've been able to test the new tire in various conditions. Before this, I was driving on Bridgestone and Nokian tires on my Skoda Octavia, and now on my Kia Cerato - Yokohama. I immediately noticed that I wasn't experiencing any wheelspin or loss of traction

Prior to this were the tires of the previous generation.
I've only driven a bit and there weren't any particularly cold temperatures.
Overall it's good, but there are moments. It handles well in general, brakes moderately well. Not noisy. Though, even with relatively mild acceleration, it easily gets stuck in the skid (on a wet road), and this is at plus temperatures...
When intense braking (again, on a wet road) occurs, ABS immediately- Vehicle:

This is my second set of tires from this brand. Total mileage on these tires is 50,000 km. The tires' behavior is predictable, the speed limit is set to 160 kph, a bit low, but directional stability at speed is satisfactory if you do not exceed the speed limit, and it behaves adequately on ice.

I'm writing my first review, and these are my first studded tires, previously I only drove on spikes, but this time I listened to acquaintances and decided to try studded tires. First of all, what I liked was that the tires are not noisy, there's no clattering, the tires are soft, and the handling on the road impressed me. I'm not a driver, but this winter we had weather and wet snow with slush, and frosts with ice, so the handling on snow, wet snow, when snow is falling and slush is forming on the road, the tires showed themselves from a good side, not once did I get stuck, the road is held confidently, it starts from a place perfectly, you start moving from a place faster than on spikes, the tires don't slip, on a clean road, there are no words, it's just great. Now I thought, why did I drive on spikes before, it climbs hills normally, didn't pull and didn't slide. The only minus is the braking distance on ice, it's a bit longer than on spikes, but I repeat, I'm not a driver, so I didn't have problems with that, I can say one thing, I personally really enjoyed driving without spikes. Definitely, from now on, only studded tires! And the most important thing is that the spikes don't fly out, constantly, whether in the city or on the highway, you drive, spikes fly out from other cars and often windows crack, it's very unpleasant, as replacing the windshield is not cheap, if everyone drove without spikes and followed traffic rules, I think it would be better! But this is just my personal opinion. In the end, I'm very happy that I switched to studded tires!!! I chose between Bridgestone and Yokohama, honestly, I chose Yokohama because of the price, but I didn't regret it, the tires really pleased me. The quality is excellent!!!

The tire is generally good. It handles ice well and gets good traction off the line. It takes ice ramps fine without any major wheelspin off the line. The tire is extremely quiet. There is some high pitch whine at hard acceleration but that's normal. On wet and dry roads, it holds the line perfectly. On slippery roads, it's very slow to get going and the anti-lock system is constantly working.

Fantastic tires! They grip the road well and can pull out of snow banks, tested on sand. Not only do they drive well, they also brake well, and have gotten me out of trouble several times with ABS. I also tried them on pure ice, and as expected, they do slide a bit in a turn, but that's to be expected from a non-studded tire. However, for roads, including snowy ones, this is a great choice.

The tyre exceeded all my expectations and even surpassed them. Prior to this tyre, I was driving on a Bridgestone REVO, but to my surprise, the Hakoama handled just as well, if not slightly better. It performed well on snow-covered roads and on black ice, but without excessive enthusiasm. As for the cons, I would like to note (based on my personal experience) that at temperatures approaching zero, the tyre doesn't handle as confidently as it does at temperatures below -

Excellent tire for a low price. Met all expectations.
In a month of use, there was dry asphalt, rain, ice, and slush. Never let me down.
Good cornering stability, silent, soft.

I'm buying this model for the second set. It holds the road perfectly, while being quiet and comfortable. I drive a lot, but mostly in the city, and our roads are cleaned properly, so the tires are fully sufficient for me. It doesn't slip on ice, so I recommend it

I drive every day, the roads in our area are poorly cleaned, and each trip used to be a lottery. Now, whether it's snow or ice, I don't even notice it. Balancing is without question, the tires are light, no vibrations, no beats. Comfort on the highway, confidence in the city.
