Asymmetric tread pattern

Perhaps the key feature of the WestLake SA05 tire is the tread pattern, which is characterized by an aggressive design with an asymmetric arrangement of elements. It has several separate zones with strictly defined functionality.

Excellent grip in turns and short braking distance

The outer side of the tread pattern is designed to provide maximum stability when cornering, as well as high braking efficiency. That's why this part of the tread consists of two rows of rectangular blocks separated by longitudinal and transverse drainage grooves.

When making sharp maneuvers, these blocks, due to their massive size and high resistance to deformation in the transverse direction, provide increased grip with the road. When braking, these tread elements form a multitude of long gripping edges, which significantly increase the deceleration efficiency.

Rigid central rib

In the central part of this tread pattern, there is a fairly wide longitudinal rib, which, due to the absence of any breaks, has very high structural rigidity, and therefore resistance to dynamic deformations. The presence of such an element in the center of the tread gives the tire a number of important qualities. First of all, it provides almost instantaneous reactions to steering wheel movements, making handling more sporty. In addition, the rigid longitudinal rib gives the tire excellent directional stability at any speed.
