Among other representatives of the line of cargo models from Michelin, the X MAXITRAILER tire stands out for a number of unique features, which is due to its application sphere. The fact is that it is designed for installation on trailers with low platforms used for transporting heavy special equipment. The complexity in the development of such tires is due to their compact size and the need to provide very high carrying capacity. Nevertheless, the French tire engineers were able to solve these problems using a number of original solutions.

Increased load capacity

One of the distinctive features of this tire is the increased load capacity of up to 7 tons per axle. A significant increase in this parameter compared to the previous generation model was achieved due to the reinforcement of the carcass with an additional aramid fiber cord.
Another factor contributing to the excellent load capacity was the Energy compound. It has increased thermal conductivity, which reduces the level of heating, and at the same time, increases the durability of the tread to punctures and cuts. In addition, this significantly reduces rolling resistance.

High strength

The tread has undergone no less significant optimization. It received reinforced shoulder zones, which better resist deformative changes that occur when transporting heavy loads. At the same time, the tread edges have a rounded profile, which increases resistance to uneven wear.
