The Metzeler Racetec RR K2 motorcycle tire is installed on sports and superbikes. It is one of three versions of the same model, differing in the lowest operating temperatures of the tread compound.

This model was developed using technologies tested in 2014 on superbike tires that participated in the Isle of Man TT race. In particular, the rear tire tread is made of two compounds. The central part is stiff, and the shoulder zones are more elastic, allowing the tire to better grip the road when exiting turns. At the same time, both rubber compounds contain special polymers that provide tear and tensile strength. This helps the tread to maintain its integrity during high-speed driving.

Another "racing" technology is used in the design of the carcass. Its stiffness on the sidewalls is significantly increased, which enhances both grip and stability in turns.
