The Apollo Hawkz H/L summer light truck tire stands out from the crowd of models designed for high-performance vehicles. Its key feature is an asymmetric directional tread pattern, which limits its application exclusively to roads with a solid surface. Another feature of this model is a limited size range, represented by only two types - 215/65R16 and 235/65R17. However, the tire has a relatively high speed index for its category - H, meaning it can provide safety at speeds of up to 210 km/h.

Asymmetric tread pattern

As mentioned earlier, one of the key features of this model is the tread pattern with an asymmetric arrangement of elements. This solution allowed for a radical improvement in traction on both dry and wet roads, while limiting the possibilities of overcoming difficult terrain outside of solid surfaces.

The central part of the Apollo Hawkz H/L tread contains three longitudinal ribs, two of which are highly rigid. The result of this solution was a significant increase in directional stability, as well as a reduction in the reaction time to steering wheel turns, making handling more refined. Another longitudinal rib, located on the inside of the tread, consists of a series of separate blocks. They are characterized not only by their massive size but also by rounded corners and edges, which reduced the noise level. These blocks, forming numerous edges, provide higher efficiency of acceleration and braking, especially on slippery roads.

- High resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to wide and deep longitudinal drainage grooves, as well as an elliptical shape of transverse channels, which increases the speed of water removal from the contact patch;
- Two rigid longitudinal ribs, located in the central part of the tread, allow the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability, both during straight-line driving and when cornering;
- The wide shoulder areas contain numerous rectangular blocks, which, forming numerous edges of contact, provide high braking efficiency, especially on wet roads.
