Second Generation

In 2013, the second-generation model debuted. Stylistically, the car was brought in line with the exterior of the earlier introduced 208 and 508. Technically, this was a new model. It used the EMP2 platform, which is used by the PSA group in almost all compact cars of the C segment. In addition, the use of high-strength steel was expanded, which made it possible to reduce the weight of the car by 140 kg compared to the predecessor. The engine range has changed significantly. In the "gasoline" part, only one engine of the Prince series remained, its most powerful version with a turbocharger. The base became a new 3-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.2 liters. Diesel power units are still present in the range, offering a choice between in-line "fours" with volumes of 1.5, 1.6, and 2 liters.

P5 Body

The car of the third generation debuted in 2021, simultaneously with the "soplatform" Citroen DS4 and Opel Astra of the 6th iteration. Compared to the predecessor, the model became much lower, which made its silhouette more elegant, and also further reduced the drag coefficient. For the hatchback, this figure is 0.28. Another difference from the previous model is the presence in the standard equipment of LED headlights of the headlight. In 2021, the range was supplemented with the e-308 version, representing a modern "electric car" with a new battery with a capacity of 54 kWh, the composition of which is 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt. Power is supplied from it to a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets with a power of 156 horsepower.
