Tyre reviews Maxxis SS-01 Presa SUV 146

I don't like studs, my choice fell on this model of tire.
A wonderful tire, drove for 2 winters, only pluses, not important which frost (I live in Siberia) in the city and on the highway, very quiet, soft and comfortable.
Very sturdy sidewall, which is important for off-road vehicles. Now I've switched to a Range Rover, I will definitely buy this tire.- Vehicle:

I spent a long time thinking which tire to choose for the 2018 season. When I read reviews on mosavtoshina and drive 2, I couldn't understand why people were so divided in their opinions. Some were extremely satisfied, while others were not, and there was no middle ground. But then I realized why this was the case: those who are satisfied with this tire are owners of not very high-speed vehicles whose speed rarely exceeds 130 km/h and whose size matches the

A quality product for such a price. They behave predictably in the snow and on the asphalt. This brand is of very high quality. The tires are soft, at -35 degrees they do not become hard as a rock like some cheaper Chinese brands. The tires run in the Republic of Buryatia.

Quite a good budget model. The main plus is the price and low noise during driving. Among the minuses: at a speed of more than 120 a noticeable decrease in directional stability. The car on a dry road begins to "float" as when slight aquaplaning. Until now, Toyo rubber was on the car. According to the cumulative operating characteristics, Toyo significantly outperforms Maxxis. But as soon as the price is mentioned - the situation is reversed. I made

225/60 R16 did 4 seasons (30,000 km), and handled all sorts of weather changes. During its usage it showed itself as a very quiet tire (considering the slight noise in the Japanese market), the tread is almost new, good sidewall, in -40 C it did not let me down, 140-150 on a highway without any complaints.
Among the cons is very poor traction during a side slip, rear just slips even at low speeds. On

They are really quiet in comparison to the previous tire which was on the previous car. After this winter, the tires have been run for a big mileage. The tires are quite soft and comfortable. They keep the car stable in a turn. They are equally good on ice and in snowy slush. I am very satisfied. The most important advantage is the price, considering that they are not worse than the expensive German manufacturers. I bought them through an online store at the end of the previous winter,

The choice of notched tire was not particularly vast in the store, I chose it for a very long time. In the end, I stopped at Maxxis SS-01! I read reviews and decided to test it myself, what it is and what it eats. So far I've only tested it on snow and asphalt! As for the noise, I wouldn't say it's like tractor tire. I traveled 700 km and didn't even notice any unusual noise on

I liked the tires, they're soft, there's some noise but it's not critical and that's only in one range, 90km+-. You shouldn't expect a "wow" effect from them on ice, they're friction tires, but I'll say they handle ice better than some others. At low pressure, they handle slush and wet snow perfectly (smooth movement without gas in the palace), they pack the snow. On asphalt, they hold well, don't float, I didn't practice sharp braking, so I don't know how they'll perform. They start working especially well when the temperature drops below 15 degrees, they grip the surface especially tightly (on my second car with studded tires, there's less grip). At around zero temperatures, when there's slush or loose snow on the road, and there's also ice, they behave just as well, but with one condition: like all other tires, these ones also require the right pressure for a specific car. I conducted my own tests: 1.9 makes it slip like a cow, it easily slips into a skid, 2.2 is too hard for my car, 2.1 is the optimal pressure, it doesn't slip, and it's soft, and overall everything is fine... But that doesn't mean they'll work at the same pressure on your car, you need to experiment. In general, I'm satisfied with the tires, they're enough for my purposes, I live in St. Petersburg, the main reason I got them is for trips out of town, and they perform perfectly there!!

I've only traveled a little over 500 km so far. I've driven on both wet and dry roads. The tyres hold the road beautifully. I haven't yet driven in the snow or on ice (we haven't had any in the Krasnodar region). The tyre is not noisy and is soft. Good value for the price.
I will write an additional review later.

Good winter tires! Not worse than the well-known brands! These are my second Maxxis winter tires. I highly recommend them to everyone. Soft and quiet. And the price is reasonable. Just what you need for Krasnodar winter!
