Tyre reviews Maxxis Victra Sport VS6 4

Decided to try the new 2025 model.
I recommend the tires! Undoubtedly an excellent replacement for Michelin and Continental at an adequate price. My tires are 245/40/18 in size.
I will compare them to the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S and Continental SportContact 7 in size 245/35/19.
1) Handling on dry roads. 5 out of 5. Both in everyday driving and on the track. Identical to more expensive competitors. Lap time on the track is the same. The tire behaves very predictably in turns and smoothly goes into skidding (unlike Hankook, which likes to skid sharply).
The sidewall is elastic (much stronger than Michelin)!
2) Handling on wet roads. 4 out of 5. Just because I don't remember exactly how Continental and Michelin behaved on rain on regular roads. But seems to be a bit better. Haven't had a chance to drive on the track in the rain yet.
3) Comfort while driving. 5 out of 5. On a higher profile, it even became a bit softer. I think it's similar to Michelin.
4) Straight-line stability. Here's 3 out of 5. The tire is sensitive to ruts. Subjectively, but it seems that competitors suffered less from this. Again, a car on wide tires by definition catches ruts stronger than other cars.
5) Quietness while driving. 5 out of 5. The Michelin was noisier. Let's see how it will be over time. For now, being new, the tire is relatively quiet.
6) Braking efficiency. 5 out of 5. On any type of surface. Stops quickly and predictably.
7) Resistance to aquaplaning. 4 out of 5. If you drive on smooth asphalt, everything is fine. But you can't exactly drive into a rut with water, there the tire "floats". Again, I think no civilian tire can handle such a test.
8) Speed characteristics. 5 out of 5. Speed index Y (up to 300 km/h). Holds excellent up to 260 km/h. Haven't accelerated further yet.
9) Wear resistance. 5 out of 5. Treadwear 340. Approximately like Michelin. The tread for a tire of this class is deep enough (7.32mm full depth and 5.45mm to the limiter). Let's see how it will be over time or at least by the end of the season in city/highway/track modes.
10) Manufacturing quality. 5 out of 5. Balanced without problems. After 1000 km of running-in, I went for a re-balance, everything is within normal limits - from 5 to 15 grams of weights per wheel, could even not balance. The tire is "pleasantly made". Interesting side pattern.
11) Price justification. Here's 10 out of 5! The set cost ~44k, which is almost 2 times cheaper than Michelin and Continental!

Maxxis has two lines of summer tires: the sporty Victra Sport and the "civilian" Premitra.
I bought for my wife's Accord 3.5 for high-speed driving in the standard size of 235/45R18. The native Michelin Primacy 3 from 2013 had become hard, although it still had 6 mm of tread left. All I remember about the Russian Michelin Primacy 3 from 2013 is that it couldn't handle water at all.
Now about the Maxxis VS6.
I purchased it at the beginning of the season. These were the first tires to arrive in Russia. A completely new model.
The tires are sporty, and you need to be prepared for that.
It will read any unevenness of the road surface at the beginning of movement until it warms up.
It will be slightly stiffer than the "civilian" Premitra.
There's no point in taking it if you don't drive faster than 140-160 km/h.
You don't need to take it for a Mazda 6 or Toyota Camry with a 2.0 or 2.5 engine. The Premitra will be enough for you.
Why?
As written in the review below, it's "nervous". It will throw you around in a rut. It's predictable, but uncomfortable. It will always keep you on your toes. But why do you need that if you can do without it?
But if you want to drive fast, these tires will support your mood.
At high speeds, it holds the course excellently!

For the 2026 season, I took the Maxxis for my wife's daily 530i X-Drive.
At MosAvtoShina, I took the Rydanz Revimax R03 for the Honda.
The Honda will go to Myachkovo in the new season. We'll be able to compare the civilian semi-slick from Rydanz and the Maxxis Victra Sport 6.
I'll also note that the tire is lightweight.
Compared to the winter Triangle PL-01 on the original casting, I was able to shed 5 kg from the wheel! on the Maxxis Victra Sport 6 and the 9RR disc. Not from the set, but from one wheel!
And now on the BMW, you can think about the one-piece Pirelli in the size of 245/45R18.
At the moment, Pirelli is 1000-2000 more expensive than Maxxis. But Pirelli comes off the assembly line and is definitely not worse) There's something to think about)

The tires are decent, regarding noise: the asphalt is different everywhere, somewhere it can be quiet, on coarse-grained it's a bit noisier. They handle well in the rain and on dry asphalt too, tested on Irkutsk's Kultuk. If compared to the Chinese Sailun and Triangle, they will be worse. And I also liked how they look from the side, that's a plus too.

Good tires, perfect for highway, ideal for long-distance trips at maximum allowed speed. The only downside is that they are very noisy.
