Tyre reviews Hankook K135 Ventus Prime 4. Страница 2 1172

The tires were very much to my liking. The main thing is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations when purchasing, in terms of load index and speed. For a sedan, I'd say, Extra Load (XL) is not needed at all - it will be too stiff (my previous set was Ventus Prime 3 98W XL). I thought this one, as the factory wrote, 94V, would have a weak sidewall (I can drive off the asphalt/concrete). But no, everything is great, the Toyota factory is not foolish. However, I wouldn't recommend driving on a rocky road, it's a pity to spoil the tires, and the tires are very good. As for quality, there is a small complaint, I don't know who it belongs to (Hankook or Mosavtoshina): after putting on a new set, a couple of weeks later, vibration appeared in the wheels; in a good tire center, they found out why - one tire was jumping when the wheel was rotated on a wheel chock. But the master adjusted everything as needed, and it became normal.

After 2 weeks of studying, watching tests, recommendations, and reading reviews, I decided to take these. According to the tests, the quality of the rubber is excellent, handling, stability at speed, resistance to aquaplaning, and braking efficiency. I was choosing between Pirelli R7 (excellent, but after 2 years the quality drops, and then it becomes a budget option), Gislaved (analog of Continental, but thinner, also one of my leaders, but I decided to exclude it due to average grip on wet asphalt and a tendency to aquaplaning). In general, I don't think I'll be driving into puddles at 80 km/h, but sometimes I wash my arches in this way. I also considered Kumho (average Korean) and Hankook (premium Korean, made in China). Both tires show very good results in tests in European publications over the past 3 years, they respond to weaknesses and eliminate them, trying to enter the premium segment. Aikons are more focused on cold summer (20..25 degrees). But the Koreans are very close to the climate and road conditions of the South of Russia: hot summer (resistance of the rubber to wear at 40 degrees and above), excellent highways (course stability), strong rains (excellent resistance to aquaplaning), serpentine roads of the Krasnodar region (stiffness of the outer shoulders of the wheel, resistance to tilting, super grip on the road, like in the "deer test") + excellent braking properties on dry and wet asphalt.
Aquaplaning is a convention... any wheel will lift off at 100 km/h. The question is only when - at 75 km/h, 80 km/h, or 60 km/h. In general, I would have bought Continental or Michelin, or secondarily Bridgestone with Goodyear. But there, the prices are cosmic and they are not available, only on order. And it would have been under the hood of 250 horsepower, then you can consider using their properties outside the city once a year. For the city (with a calm speed mode) all tires are +/- equal.

Quite comfortable driving at any speed and mode. Doesn't feel the water under it at all. I'm satisfied 😊. Thank you. Let's see how long the mileage lasts.

So the car has 275 horsepower on four-wheel drive. The size is 225/45/17, the XL version of the tire (with reinforced sidewalls).
Pluses:
- excellent grip on acceleration/braking, both on wet and dry roads, excellent predictable handling in turns, the tendency to aquaplaning in new tires is minimal, but keep that in mind. The tire is quite comfortable in terms of noise, there is a tendency to follow the road, but for me, these parameters are not very important (the tire is not hard as wood).
Minuses:
- the biggest minus is the "softness" when cornering, i.e. the "moose test" this tire will pass, but the clarity on the steering wheel and the trajectory of movement, to be honest, is mediocre.
In all parameters, this Hankook is like a twin brother of Triangle 202, but costs almost twice as much.As for the "reinforced sidewall" (the seller spoke about this XL modification), the other day, moving around the courtyard at a speed of about 10 km/h, I hit the curb while turning, as a result, the sidewall was torn (the disc is without scratches).
In general, based on my experience, I would give the following ratings for "Handling on dry roads", "Handling on wet roads", "Price justification", "Manufacturing quality", "Straight-line stability".- Vehicle:

I will compare with the standard LING-LONG GREENMAX HP 4X4. Hankook has better traction and braking on dry and wet surfaces,
when changing lanes it feels more confident, the sidewall is softer but handles joints more harshly than LING-LONG. In terms of noise, it's not clear-cut: Hankook has slightly less noise from air flow turbulence (on perfectly smooth asphalt, it's almost silent) but much more noise on rough asphalt, resonating like an over-inflated basketball. (Even if you cover the inside with soundproofing material.) My subjective opinion: Hankook has better handling, but LING-LONG is more comfortable.

As usual, the choice of tires was difficult. But I bought them here because the price turned out to be the most advantageous, given that you can buy on credit.
About the tires: 215/55 R17 94V, there is reinforcement on the tread part inside, there is a protective rim for the disc rim, the rubber is very grippy to the touch. How the tires behave, I really like - there is indeed a balance in everything. I'm happy with the purchase. In puddles, of course, they don't behave like Continental PremiumContact, but they don't skid the car.

The tires are not bad, I accidentally saw a review of these tires on YouTube after purchasing, they were ranked top 5 in their segment. Previously, I had Dunlop Efficele (sorry for my English), but those cost 19 per piece. So, these seem like a not bad option. A bit noisier than I expected, but otherwise good!

In the photo, the production is Korea, in the description it is Russia, but in fact it is China. Why is it so difficult to tell the truth about the manufacturer?

Just ordinary good tires. Not too soft, not too hard. Not noisy and not super quiet. Need to brake - will brake. Need to turn - will turn. Possibly, the rut is felt a bit stronger than on some other tires, but that's not accurate. In short, perfect in their ordinariness.

I bought these tires as a replacement for Nokian Hakka Green. They seem quieter and softer. On the highway, I drove into a heavy downpour - out of 300 km of rain at 140 km/h, there was only one instance of aquaplaning, and the car stayed in its lane. Overall, it showed good handling on wet roads. Considering the inflated prices of European tires and my distrust of Chinese brands, there aren't many alternatives to this tire for the price.
