The choice of specialists from both manufacturers is due to the exceptionally high efficiency of the asymmetric tread on wet roads. Excellent grip on them is one of the key advantages of this tire, which significantly surpasses most of its competitors in a number of other no less important operational characteristics.

Exceptional resistance to aquaplaning

As mentioned earlier, this model is equipped with a tread with an asymmetric design. It is distinguished by the presence of a highly developed drainage system. Its highest performance is due not so much to the number of drainage grooves, but to the division into two functional zones. One of them is located on the inside of the tread. Most of the grooves here have a significant slope and a curved shape, directed against the movement. Along with their significant size, this provides them with a very high throughput, which, given their location on the inside of the tread, improves the tire's resistance to aquaplaning on a straight line. In turn, the drainage grooves on the outside of the tread are located almost transversely, which increases the grip when cornering.

Excellent braking performance

Another characteristic feature of this tire is the design of the shoulder areas of its tread. They contain many blocks, each with straight lamellas cut into them. This significantly increases the number of gripping edges in this part of the tread. In combination with their transverse arrangement, as well as the fact that it is the shoulder areas that bear the main load during braking, this significantly reduces the braking distance, especially on wet roads.
