Ikon Character Eco – a summer asymmetric tire from a new Russian manufacturer, which represents an updated line of tires presented in 2024. The model is a "successor" to the Nordman SX3, inheriting its main characteristics, which were improved through a number of additions.
The non-directional tread with four central channels is particularly effective on wet asphalt. Thanks to the rapid water drainage, implemented through one of the sidewalls of the tire, protection against hydroplaning is achieved. Three central ribs, carrying diagonal grooves, increase the edge effect, contributing to the maintenance of the contact area's fixation strength. This had a positive impact on the traction properties, optimizing the acceleration and braking characteristics.
The composition of the compound also plays an essential role in ensuring reliable traction and increasing the lifespan. It is supplemented with a package of additives that reduce wear and contribute to maintaining the composition's elasticity under the influence of high temperatures. Another positive feature is the low noise level, which was achieved through the optimization of block and channel arrangement.
