The Continental ContiExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tire is positioned by the manufacturer as an all-season model, capable of maintaining its working characteristics in any weather. Nevertheless, as tests have shown, the tire is most effective on dry and wet asphalt, as well as in European winter conditions. The model belongs to the premium class of high-performance tires, whose scope of application includes sports cars, passenger cars with powerful engines, and luxury SUVs.

The tread is an analog of the previous model. It also features pronounced asymmetry and non-directionality. In the central zone, there are two ribs - one wider, the second - narrower. Equipped with a large number of slots of different directions, they contribute to the speed of transmission of efforts from the steering, increasing the maneuverability of the vehicle. It is the multidirectionality of the block structures that allows the car to maintain stability during maneuvering (numerous tests that the tire has passed, both on public roads and on racing tracks, confirm this). An important addition is the three-dimensional self-locking lamellas, the effectiveness of which is especially pronounced on slippery surfaces.

The use of siliceous components and vegetable oil in the compound has made it possible to maintain the elasticity of the tread elements in a wide temperature range.

An important difference from the previous model was the closer placement of the block structures to each other. The manufacturer took this step to reduce wear. And to control the latter, the same indicator with three-level control is provided, which reports not only on the uneven wear of the tread, but also on the possibility of using the tire on slippery, wet and dry roads.
