Tires on Mini (Мини)
The Mini automobile brand, founded in 1969, is owned by the German BMW and since 2000 has been used by it in the production of compact models with impressive appearance and sporty handling. The brand name has been used since 1959 for naming cars, and for designating an independent brand, it has been applied since 1969.History
This car brand has its history dating back to the line of British mini-cars released by the British Motor Company in 1959. In 1968, it merged with Leyland, forming British Leyland. In the 1980s, this alliance broke up, and the rights to Mini went to British Aerospace along with the assets of the Rover Group, which owned the rights to the brand. During this period, the line of cars included the Morris Mini-Minor, Austin Seven, Countryman, Moke, 1275GT, and Clubman. The most dynamic versions of these "minis" used the name Cooper, in honor of the legendary driver John Cooper. The production of the original Minis continued until 2000.Mini before 1990
The original Mini was a compact 2-door car. The front-wheel drive layout allowed for up to 80% of the floor area to be used for passengers and luggage, having a significant impact on the entire automotive industry, which actively uses this solution today. The low price, ease of handling, and comfort made the Mini the British equivalent of the German VW Beetle. In 1999, this compact was recognized as the second most significant passenger car of the 20th century after the Ford Model T. Its development was handled by Sir Alex Issigonis. Production was carried out not only in England but also in Australia, Spain, Belgium, Chile, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia. A large number of versions were released, including a station wagon, pickup, van, and even the Moke buggy. The sporty Mini Cooper and Cooper S versions turned out to be an excellent basis for creating rally cars, which from 1964 to 1967 four times won the Monte-Carlo.Mini and BMW
In 1994, the Rover Group, which owned the Mini brand, was acquired by BMW. In 2000, the Rover Group ceased to exist, but not the legendary car brand. BMW had been developing a new Mini since 1995, and in doing so, the German company had to change its traditions, abandoning rear-wheel drive. As a result, in 2001, an absolutely new compact premium-class car was presented, but radically different from the models of the same segment in the BMW lineup. The exterior design was just one of 15 options, five of which were created by the company's designers in Germany, another five by their colleagues from BMW Designworks in California, four by Rover Group, and one by an external Italian studio. The winner of this competition was the version of American Frank Stephenson from BMW Designworks. Since then, Mini cars have been modernized several times, but each time, the continuity has been preserved, both in design and in driving characteristics. Only the number of versions and the number of components changed, new suspension options, engine lines appeared, but the concept itself remains unchanged - a compact premium-class car that combines comfort in everyday use and ease of handling in urban conditions. This is largely due to the tires that can be purchased at the "Mosavtoshina" store.Advantages of selecting tires for Mini on our website
