The miniature crossover Mini Countryman became the first model produced by the English manufacturer under the new ownership, namely BMW. The five-door crossover, produced from 2010, had an original design that corresponded to the company's corporate style. In appearance, the model was very similar to the Mini Crossover. The car could be equipped with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with the latter having electronic control of torque distribution between the axles. As power units, a 1.6-liter "gasoline" engine and its turbocharged version with the same volume were used. "Diesels" were represented by 1.6 and 2.0-liter power units from BMW. A 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission was used as a transmission. In 2012, some changes were made that improved the environmental friendliness of the engines, bringing them in line with Euro 6.

In 2014, the car underwent a facelift, during which the radiator grille was changed and new color options appeared.

In 2016, the second generation was presented, which began to be sold in Europe and other countries in 2017. The car increased in size, which positively affected the comfort of its salon. The exterior did not change much, despite the change of platform (UKL2 from BMW). In addition to gasoline and diesel power units, a hybrid version was now also offered, which was based on a three-cylinder engine in combination with an electric motor with 65 kW. The total power of the units reached 221 hp. Note that the car could travel up to 40 km exclusively on electric traction. And its fuel consumption when working on a gasoline engine, according to the manufacturer, was only 2.1 liters per 100 km.

In 2019, sales of the updated version with a 306 hp power unit began. Thanks to the latter, the car could accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

U25

Very recently, in 2023, the next generation of "Countryman" was presented. The car has again increased in size, while retaining its original exterior design. But now it has no chrome elements, and both the exterior and interior have become simpler. Nevertheless, the two-tone body color has remained, and LED lights have appeared, the shape of which can be adjusted. From technical innovations - the company's proprietary voice assistant, which has moved from other models of the company.

Despite the fact that the basis is an old platform, only slightly modernized, the car has received a redesigned suspension, including a sports one (optional). Under the hood, a 1.5 turbocharged gasoline engine is now hidden in the minimum configuration, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 300 hp in the maximum configuration. The drive can be either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. A dual-clutch robot is used as a transmission.
