Tires on Mini One (Мини)
Here is the translation to English:
The Mini One is a line of compact 3-door hatchbacks, executed in a retro style. In its current form, the car has existed since the summer of 2001, after the German BMW acquired the rights to the British brand. In 2023, the production of the model with this name was discontinued, after the debut of a car with the same concept, but with an electric powertrain and a different name.
History of creation
The development of the car began in 1995 and was carried out by both BMW and the Rover Group in England. There were constant disagreements between the two teams of engineers and designers, the source of which was the positioning of the future car. At Rover, a largely ascetic model of the economy segment was being created, while at BMW, a sports car of the representative class. The disputes ceased after the sale of Rover. BMW retained this project, work on which was continued and completed by 2001, resulting in the appearance of a 3-door hatchback with sporty handling and externally retaining the stylistic features of the legendary Austin Mini.
First generation
The debut of the first-generation car took place in the summer of 2001. Despite its compact size, it was significantly larger than the Mini of 1959, being 58 cm longer. Technically, the car was distinguished by numerous borrowings from compact BMW models, primarily the 3-series, which "shared" suspension components. The engine range in the early years of production consisted of petrol engines - 1.4- and 1.6-liter from the Brazilian Tritec Motors. Later, modifications with a 1ND-TV diesel engine from Toyota were added to the lineup. The engines worked in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission from Rover or a continuously variable transmission from ZF. Later, it was replaced by a 5-range "automatic" from Getrag.
Second generation
In 2007, the German manufacturer presented a car of the second generation. It was built on a modified platform of its predecessor, which was largely due to the need to accommodate petrol engines Prince, developed jointly with the French from PSA. In addition, specialists from ItalDesign were involved in the development, who were responsible for coordinating work on the creation of the car's exterior, body, and chassis. The engine range, as mentioned above, consisted of petrol engines Prince, the base of which was a 1.4-liter engine. Later, versions with 1.6-liter diesel engines, a joint development of Ford and Peugeot, were added to the lineup. Later, they were replaced by N47 engines with a capacity of 1.6 liters from BMW.
Third generation
The car of the third iteration was presented in the fall of 2013. The use of a new BMW UKL platform significantly increased the size in all directions. As a result, the car offered much more space for four passengers and luggage. The engine range has also changed significantly, with several new engines appearing. First of all, this is a 3-cylinder "trio" with a volume of 1.2 liters, with a power of 75 or 102 horsepower, as well as a 136-horsepower 1.5-liter B38 with three cylinders. The engines were combined with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Starting from the first generation, the car proved to be popular not only all over the world but also in our country, where it has a sustainable audience. A significant part of the owners of this model purchases tires and wheels in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
