Jeep Meridian is a mid-size crossover that debuted in 2021 in Brazil. The vehicle is designed for countries in South America, India, and Japan. In the North American brand's lineup, it is positioned one step below the Compass.

The vehicle is technically a "twin" of the Jeep Commander crossover, using the same modular Small Wide platform, which it shares with the higher-ranking Compass. Externally, it differs from the "Commander" only slightly - a different design of the wheels and decorative trim of the headlights and bumper without LED daytime running lights. In technical terms, the changes are minimal - passive shock absorbers and springs. Under the hood is a 2-liter turbocharged inline-four diesel engine, developing 170 horsepower. Depending on the trim level, it works in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The base versions have front-wheel drive, and the all-wheel-drive system with a multi-disc clutch on the rear axle is only available for crossovers with an automatic transmission.

Another characteristic feature of the vehicle is the absence of openly ascetic trim levels. Even in the standard equipment, the vehicle offers a 3-row cabin, designed to transport up to 7 people, as well as a 10.25-inch instrument panel display and a multimedia system with a 10.1-inch touch screen, six airbags. In the list of options for more expensive versions, there are "captain's" chairs on the second row.

Updated Version

In 2024, the North American brand offered an updated version of the crossover. Unlike most of its "classmates", the update made it simpler and, as a result, more affordable. In particular, the crossover in the standard trim lost the third row of seats, thanks to which the trunk volume increased to 670 liters. Nevertheless, the "gallery" remained available for expensive versions. In this version, the space behind it can accommodate up to 170 liters of luggage. The exterior of the crossover has hardly changed. In essence, the only innovation is the radiator grille with a larger amount of chrome plating than before. In the cabin, it has almost disappeared, replaced by a matte surface painted in a copper color. In terms of equipment, the only change affected the additional options, where a level 2 "autopilot" appeared, representing an adaptive "cruise" with a function of reading road signs and markings and lane keeping.
