Tires on Isuzu (Исузу)

Isuzu, a company of Japanese origin, is renowned worldwide for its trucks, buses, SUVs, and diesel engines. Notably, the latter are often used by GM in their vehicles.

History and Development

In 1916, two local companies, namely Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. and Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., merged to create machines with diesel engines. It's worth noting that prior to this, diesel engines were not popular in Japan and were not applied in the same way as in most countries. The new company attempted to fill this niche, and in 1922, it began producing the A-9 truck (after signing an agreement with the American Wolseley Motors). Further development was related to cargo equipment. Thus, in 1933, the Isuzu truck rolled off the assembly line, named after one of Japan's rivers.

As for the company's familiar name, it appeared only in 1949. During this period, the direction of developing diesel engines was actively developing. And in 1950, an 8-cylinder engine with water cooling and improved combustion chamber design was introduced to the public. The unit was in high demand among many manufacturers, which gave the company a reason to start creating its own passenger car. It became a model developed on the basis of the English Hillman. In this regard, the manufacturer developed and released the first diesel engine for passenger transport in 1961. The company received numerous awards for this.

Since 1971, Isuzu has been cooperating with General Motors, which became the owner of 35% of the company's shares. As part of this project, several models of passenger cars appeared, and the supply of diesel engines for many GM cars was established.

Present Day and Work in Russia

Now the company is the leader in the Japanese region in terms of sales of cargo equipment. In addition, it is actively developing the production sector of SUVs and pickups equipped with diesel engines.

As for Russia, the supply of equipment to the country was carried out as early as 1969. However, the company officially entered the Russian market only in 2006, opening its representative office. And ten years later, the Isuzu-Rus joint venture appeared. This was due to the increased demand for cargo equipment from the Japanese manufacturer, which is distinguished by its reliability and efficiency in the most difficult conditions. Such distribution requires timely maintenance, which consists of many factors, including tire replacement. Therefore, the "Mosavtoshina" store offers a wide range of tires for any Isuzu model.
