The Isuzu KB is a pickup truck of the Japanese brand, produced from 1972 to 1988. All this time, the model was sold under many other names and brands owned by North American General Motors.

First Generation

The car debuted in 1972. On the assembly line, it replaced the Florian pickup, preserving not only the concept but also a number of components, in particular, doors and front design. The model was available in two trim levels, designated by the numbers 20 and 25, which differed from each other in wheelbase length. In both cases, a classic ladder-type frame and rear suspension on leaf springs were used, and in the front, it was independent on A-shaped levers. The drive system was unambiguous and traditional for such cars - exclusively rear-wheel drive. Nevertheless, in 1978, the Japanese manufacturer released a modification with all-wheel drive. Another innovation in the lineup was the appearance of a pickup truck with a double cab, created on a longer chassis. The engine range consisted of a 2-liter diesel engine with 62 horsepower and a 1.6-liter gasoline "four", developing 94 horsepower.

Second Generation

In 1980, the second generation of the pickup truck was presented, which by that time had become one of the best-selling models of the Japanese brand. The key innovation was a significant expansion of the list of modifications. Already at the start of sales, the car was available with three cabins. In addition to the existing single and double, the so-called Space Cab was added - an original version of the "one-and-a-half" cabin with an extended side glass, "entering" much lower than the glazing line. Another important change was the body developed "from scratch", but at the same time, the chassis and mechanical components were entirely borrowed from the previous model, including the all-wheel drive system. Such modifications were designated as Rodeo. And it was this name that was chosen for the pickup truck of the next iteration, presented in 1988. Given the long time that has passed since the end of mass production, this pickup is extremely rare on our roads.
