Modernized version

In the second half of 2006, the pickup of the next iteration debuted. It was built on the GMT900 platform, which was a modernized version of the GMT800 from its predecessor. Its concept was fully preserved, but at the same time, the car turned out to be much more efficient in use. To a large extent, this was due to changes in the body design, which, due to the sloping windshield, smaller gaps between panels, and a rounded profile of the front part, had significantly less aerodynamic resistance. In addition, the engine range underwent significant changes, with the appearance of a 4th generation Small Block V8 gasoline engine with a volume of 5.3 and 6 liters. In addition to increased power, it was distinguished by the ability to disable half of the cylinders under low loads, which provided fuel savings of 5.5 to 7.5%. In 2007, modifications with an even more powerful "eight" with a volume of 6.2 liters appeared, which developed 403 horsepower and 565 Nm.

Fourth generation

In December 2012, the pickup of the fourth generation debuted. This time, a truly new platform was used, which, in particular, allowed for a significant expansion of the equipment list, a significant part of which was represented by components and electronic systems that provided the pickup with "passenger car" comfort. The engine range was changed again. This time, it was fully composed of V8s, starting with a 6-liter Vortec with 360 horsepower. The most traction modifications were equipped with a new V-shaped "eight" Duramax with a volume of 6.6 liters, which developed 397 or 445 horsepower, depending on the version.

Fifth generation

The premiere of the pickup of the next iteration took place in March 2018, a few months after the debut of the Chevrolet Silverado IV generation. Unlike its predecessor, it had many more features. First of all, this is a body made of carbon fiber and a 2-section rear door Multi-Pro. Inside, a projection color display appeared. The engine range consists of the previous EcoTec gasoline engines, but at the same time, both V-shaped "eights" with a volume of 5.3 and 6.2 liters were modernized, distinguished by increased power and lower fuel consumption. Both power units work in pair with 8- and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
