The only difference from it in technical terms was the location of the front axle, significantly shifted forward and a halved hood. Upgraded Options

The first cycle of modernization of the van was carried out in 2003. It mainly affected the technical part. The car "moved" to the GMT610 frame platform, which was distinguished by a 3-sectional architecture and a box-section of the power elements, which the pickups had previously received. From them, the front suspension was also taken - a lever one for rear-wheel drive versions and a torsion one for all-wheel drive modifications. Another innovation was the appearance of disc brake mechanisms on all wheels and an anti-lock braking system. The engine range was also revised. It included new engines with the so-called "small" block - gasoline V-shaped "eights" with a volume of 4.8, 5.3, and 6 liters.

The upgraded frame platform made it possible to use multiplex wiring, thanks to which, starting from 2003, the van repeatedly expanded its equipment list. First of all, this is the stability control system, two-stage airbags, and side "curtains", a multimedia system with satellite navigation, cameras with a 360-degree view, a parking assistance system, warnings of leaving the lane and a possible collision. However, the majority of versions still represented utility commercial vehicles that require specialized disks and tires for their full use.
