Buick La Crosse – a sedan from an American company, which began production in 2004. The model has undergone several generations and remains relevant to this day.

Beginnings

The basis for the first generation was the MS2000 platform, which the manufacturer used for many years when creating other models. The car was produced only with front-wheel drive, and its power units were represented exclusively by V6 engines with a volume of 3.6 and 3.8 liters. The exterior of the first generation did not shine with its originality. This aspect was attempted to be corrected in 2008, when a facelift was carried out. The car received new head optics, side air intakes, a radiator grille, and more. Among the features, it is worth noting the possibility of installing a transforming front console between the front seats. Thanks to this, it was possible to create an additional seat, accommodating 6 people in the salon. Development

The second generation appeared in 2010. The car has changed significantly, becoming the company's flagship sedan. Its basis was the platform previously used for the Saab 9-5, Opel Insignia.

The engines were represented by 2.4, 3.0, and 3.6-liter units. The first of these is a novelty belonging to the "Ecotec" line. The car received many "assistants", its suspension was completely redesigned, which improved handling accuracy. The salon became more ergonomic, with more expensive materials used.

In 2013, a restyling was carried out, which introduced an 8-inch multimedia screen, collision warning systems, and blind spot monitoring.

In 2015, a new, third-generation model was introduced, which was based on the E2XX platform (used on the Chevrolet Impala 2016-20). The sedan received an eAssist - a "soft" hybrid installation consisting of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a 20 kW electric motor. It worked in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Also, a new 3.6-liter V6 was introduced, which was equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin. Among the new equipment, it is worth noting the autopilot, "Android Auto" and "Apple CarPlay" systems, which allow connecting mobile devices to the car's multimedia system.

2019 marked the end of La Crosse production for the American market. But the model continued to exist in China, where a new facelift was carried out for the local market. A turbocharged 2-liter engine with 237 horsepower was used as the power unit in the sedan. It was complemented by a 9-speed "automatic".

Present Day

A new generation (fourth) for the Chinese market was introduced in 2023. The car has changed again, with a turbocharged 2-liter engine under the hood. Later, the manufacturer expanded the lineup by adding a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The car's salon is equipped with a digital instrument cluster combined with a touch screen of the central console. The car is equipped with a huge number of systems that make any trip as comfortable and safe as possible.
