The Buick GL8 ES made its debut in the lineup of models of the North American brand in 2017. In technical terms, the minivan largely repeated the previous model. Under the hood was the same 2-liter turbo engine with 237 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Now it has a hybrid "add-on" in the form of a 48-volt starter-generator, which extends the operating time of the "start-stop" system. In addition, the car received a new 9-speed automatic transmission.
