Comparing the previous (TOYO tread) to this one, it clearly wins in terms of stability and handling. Decided to take the plunge and try out the NITTO NT SPK 175/70 R14. Installed the tires before the first snow, so was able to test on dry asphalt and was pleasantly surprised as there was no difference between the Bridgestone ECOPIA EP200 summer tire I had previously, the road holds just as steady, doesn't wander like the Bridgestone ICE CRUISER 5000 winter tire I previously had. I was choosing tires for my new car. Before that, I drove on GoodYear Efficient Grip for many years and didn't notice any particular difference. NITTO turned out to be very good. Over the season, not a single stud came off. They grip very well, and I had no problems with an icy uphill climb in a front-wheel drive vehicle. Definitely good tires.
