The WestLake SW608 winter tire is one of the latest developments from the renowned Chinese manufacturer. The distinctive feature of this novelty from the Chinese tire industry is its high performance on any winter surfaces, long service life, and, of course, extremely attractive cost.
V-shaped tread design
This model was created in close cooperation with European tire manufacturers, as evidenced by the V-shaped symmetrical tread pattern. It features five longitudinal ribs separated by wide drainage grooves. This design provides the tire with excellent directional stability at any speed. The structure of the central part of the tread also contributes to this, which consists of two ribs that, due to the absence of any breaks, have high stiffness and resistance to dynamic deformation.
Excellent traction properties on snow
Another feature of the tread pattern of this model is its block structure, similar to that found on winter tires from leading European manufacturers. The tread contains many individual blocks that form a multitude of differently directed edges of adhesion during movement. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates confident behavior on snowy surfaces. In addition, there are many so-called "snow catchers" in the shoulder areas. These cross-shaped grooves provide additional traction on snow.
Excellent traction on ice
Despite the absence of studs, the WestLake SW608 demonstrates good traction properties on icy surfaces. This is made possible by special wavy lamellas located throughout the surface of the tread pattern. During movement, they form a huge number of additional edges of adhesion, which, being located in different directions, allow for confident movement on ice.
