The Ikon Nordman RS2 winter tire is designed for use in regions with a moderately cold climate. It represents a universal model, comfortable in everyday use, but at the same time distinguished by increased precision in handling, stability during maneuvering, and efficiency when braking on wet and snowy surfaces.
The tread pattern is characterized by a directional arrangement of elements, primarily drainage grooves. This allows the use of wheel rotation to drain water and its mixture with snow, which significantly increases the reliability of control in poor weather conditions. Another feature is the high density of lamella notches. Narrow slits are located a few millimeters apart, forming thousands of sharpened edges. They increase the traction and braking properties on the most slippery surfaces. Their effectiveness is also ensured by the rubber compound. In addition to "silica", it contains special oils that increase the strength of the compound against tearing and stretching. This made it possible to make the tread elastic, while maintaining its high resistance to abrasive wear, punctures, and tears. It is worth noting the profile of the tread. Its shape is chosen in such a way as to maximize the contact patch, leveling its edges. This solution improves the grip properties, their stability during maneuvering, and also significantly slows down the process of tread wear, increasing the mileage of the tire.
