The Bridgestone Ecopia EP25 summer tire is one of the "younger" representatives of the so-called "energy-efficient" line of models from the Japanese tire giant. In addition, this model is characterized by quite specialized applicability, limited exclusively to compact passenger cars. This feature is due to the size range, represented by tire sizes with a rim diameter of 14 and 15 inches.
Two-layer steel cord
To a large extent, the excellent fuel economy of this tire is due to the two-layer steel cord. Due to this feature, increased resistance to dynamic deformation is ensured, which made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance. Additionally, the double metal cord allowed for a more optimal distribution of external pressure across the Bridgestone Ecopia EP25 contact patch, thereby reducing the likelihood of uneven wear. As a result, the tread has become much more durable.
5-step arrangement of tread elements
When developing this model, Japanese tire manufacturers paid special attention to reducing the noise level. One of the main components of this struggle was the arrangement of all tread pattern elements with a different pitch relative to each other. This made it possible to minimize the level of resonant noise and vibration, which had a very favorable effect on the level of driving comfort.
Silica-based rubber compound
One of the features of this tire is the tread rubber compound, or rather its composition. It contains silica, a silicon-containing element that provides additional grip when driving on a wet road, when the temperature on its surface is significantly reduced.
Two wide longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread
When driving, this tire demonstrates excellent directional stability at any speed. This is mainly due to the two very wide longitudinal ribs located in the central part of the tread. Their high rigidity, combined with massive dimensions, provides the tire with excellent resistance to dynamic deformations, thanks to which it is characterized by reliable and stable behavior.
