Later, many models appeared that were largely similar to those of Ford and Lincoln. It was this that played a decisive role in the inability to compete with global manufacturers. The key point was 2010, when, against the backdrop of the crisis, Mercury sales reached their lowest point in history. As a result, the management made a decision to liquidate the brand and launch the Lincoln brand as a separate division.
