Mercury Cougar – a sports coupe from an American manufacturer that was revived in 1998. Over four years of production, about 30,000 units were produced.

The base for the car was the Ford Mondeo platform. The profile line with a slope gave the body a sporty note. The salon was distinguished by its spaciousness, as the car was larger than even the Mondeo wagon. Sports seats with electric drive provided comfortable seating.

The power units were represented by a 2-liter engine with 4 cylinders, which developed 131 horsepower, as well as a 2.5-liter engine with 173 horsepower. There was also a boosted version of the engine with 205 horsepower, capable of accelerating the heavy car to "hundred" in 7.8 seconds. A 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission were used as a transmission.

During its existence, the model underwent several facelifts, but never gained due popularity.
