The Chrysler Voyager is a classic American minivan with a rich history that began in 1983. First Generation

The car called Chrysler Voyager was introduced in Europe in 1988. The car had impressive dimensions, providing spaciousness in the cabin. It was equipped with two engines of its own design with a volume of 2.2 and 2.5 liters, as well as a V6 engine with a volume of 3 liters from Mitsubishi.

Second Generation

A slightly modified model of the new generation was introduced in 1991. As before, the Dodge Caravan was its basis. This factor also determined the striking similarity. The line of engines has slightly expanded due to the use of more voluminous engines with a volume of 3.3 and 3.8 liters. The exterior has not changed much, as well as the interior trim. The car was equipped only with a manual transmission. It is noteworthy that this is the last generation that worked with a manual transmission.

Third Generation

The novelty appeared in 1996. It was distinguished by more smooth body lines, the dimensions of which remained unchanged. The manufacturer expanded and improved the power units, which provided better driving characteristics of the vehicle. Along with the classic cabin layout, the "Voyager" with all "captain's" chairs was offered in Europe. There were also options with manual transmission, while on the American market, the car was supplied only with an "automatic" transmission.

Fourth Generation

The model became even more comfortable and representative. The interior trim was improved, many additional options appeared, including a video cassette player or a DVD player with screens for rear passengers, improved ABS, side airbags, and more. The power units became more powerful, which allowed improving the driving qualities of the car. The generation was constantly being modernized.

Fifth and Sixth Generations

The car was positioned by the manufacturer as a family multi-purpose vehicle of increased comfort. Released in 2008, it had many modern systems, including climate control, improved multimedia, optimized ergonomics of the cabin itself. Moreover, the manufacturer arranged the seats not in a standard way, but according to the 2-2-3 formula. This increased the overall level of comfort for passengers. The engines were also represented by a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines, which allowed choosing the optimal option for specific purposes.

The sixth and last generation saw the light in 2020. The car has radically changed. It had improved sound insulation, modern multimedia with touch control, and many additional assistants, including an "autoparker", blind spot control, multi-level seat heating, and more. All this significantly increased the status of the car.
