Шины на Chrysler Town & Country (Крайслер)
The Chrysler Town & Country minivan was produced from 1989 to 2016. The model was positioned by the manufacturer as a flagship, which was above the Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager, primarily in terms of equipment level and trim materials.First Generation
The car debuted in the spring of 1989 with the name of the universals, the serial production of which was discontinued a year earlier. It was created on the Chrysler S platform, on which the Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager with an extended wheelbase were previously developed. This allowed to significantly reduce costs, along with limited color choices for the body. At the time of the premiere, only white minivans were available, and in the summer of 1989, black cars were added to them. All versions had a salon with brown upholstery and wood-like inserts in the door cards and front console. Another difference from the Dodge and Plymouth "clones" was the standard equipment, which consisted of options not available to them, starting from electric windows, central locking, and air conditioning, and ending with 7 seats and an Infinity audio system. In terms of technology, there were far fewer such features. First of all, this is the engine range, which started with a 3-liter Mitsubishi gasoline V6, which was later replaced with another V6, but with a volume of 3.3 liters of its own design. Both engines worked in pair with an alternative 4-speed automatic transmission.Second Generation
In the fall of 1990, the American company presented a model of the next generation. The car used the Chrysler AS platform, which, as before, was used in the extended versions of the minivans of Dodge and Plymouth. The car's body, although it underwent significant changes, especially in the front, retained the doors from its predecessor. An important difference from it was a wider range of body colors. In the interior, exclusively leather trim and wood imitation were used again, but at the same time, the front console was equipped with a glove box. In terms of technology, there were no significant changes. The car was still "tied" to the large sedans of the North American brand, using both individual chassis elements and engines. From a technical point of view, the changes were much smaller. The most significant of them was the appearance of a four-wheel drive system, which was offered as an additional option, along with a 3.8-liter V6 gasoline engine.Third Generation
The minivan presented in 1996 marked significant changes, both in concept and positioning. Part of the versions were created on the same platform as the similar models from Dodge/Plymouth, but at the same time, from modifications with a standard wheelbase. This allowed the car to compete with more compact minivans from Ford and General Motors brands. At the same time, the line of models with a "long" wheelbase was preserved. In addition, "people's" versions with an unusually smaller number of options and inexpensive materials in the salon appeared in it. They replaced similar modifications from Plymouth.Fourth Generation
The car of the fourth generation began to be sold in the winter of 2000. It was created on the Chrysler RS platform of the predecessor. Moreover, initially, models with an extended wheelbase were offered. The chassis, engines, and other mechanical components remained without any significant changes. In 2005, the car underwent a restyling, as part of which the exterior was partially revised, as well as the salon, in which the possibility of folding the seats of the 2nd and 3rd rows into a "flat floor" appeared. However, for this, it was necessary to abandon the four-wheel drive system.Fifth Generation
In the summer of 2007, the premiere of the minivan of the fourth generation took place. The car lost versions with a short wheelbase, as well as significantly transformed externally, receiving more streamlined forms. In the salon, there were seats of the 2nd row, which could be turned "face" to the chairs of the third row. At the same time, a table could be extracted from the compartment under the floor, placing it between the two rows of chairs. In addition, there were electric windows in the sliding doors, and the gearshift lever "moved" from under the steering wheel to the central console, which became much higher. In terms of technology, an important innovation was the appearance of a new 4-liter gasoline engine, which worked in pair with a 6-speed "automatic". In addition, for versions supplied to Europe and Asia, a 4-cylinder diesel engine with a volume of 2.8 liters from VM Motori became available. An alternative to it was a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine of the Pentastar family. The car cannot be called popular in our country, but, nevertheless, its owners often buy wheel disks and tires in the online store "Mosavtoshina".Advantages of selecting tires for Chrysler Town & Country on our website:
