I was choosing between Pirelli Ice Zero and Ikon Autograph 9. I have experience of about 6 years of using Pirelli Ice Zero on another car in a smaller size. The determining factor for re-selecting this model was tests where Ice Zero has better resistance to sidewall rupture when driving onto a curb (or falling into potholes). Among the drawbacks, traditionally, this is noise, which after 1.5-2 thousand km. levels out and becomes less. The spikes are held perfectly. On the first set, they started to fall out more strongly around 4-5 years. If you don't put durability first, the roads you drive on are without potholes with sharp edges, and you're not guided by price, I would probably choose between HKPL10 and Continental Ice Contact 3. However, Pirelli Ice Zero is twice as cheap as these tires, plus official manufacturer support. In terms of overall quality, it's quite a balanced tire.

Before the arrival of winter and snow, on autumn asphalt, it hums very loudly. But the noise decreases with the appearance of signs of winter (rollers, ice, loose snow, etc.). Instead, it digs through snow and ice like a frantic excavator. Nowhere else have I skidded, had my tail swing out, or stopped thinking about "ramming". It also brakes in an instant. The studs are all in place. This is real winter tires, and I've tried a lot on my Samurai. For myself, I've decided that for such handling and safety, I can ignore the noise of the tires in autumn (you can't have your cake and eat it too). Very useful winter tires.

The tire has been in use for 7 years. However, if the protector still looks good, about half of the studs are lost or broken. Meanwhile, for the last 2 years, I've been driving almost entirely on asphalt. As of today, December 2, 2024, there has been no snow and the temperature remains above zero. The lifespan of the tire is 5 years. By the sixth year, it started to hold the road worse. Light skids appeared in places where they weren't before (a 90-degree turn in front of the house at a speed of about 30 km/h - it used to be like driving on rails). On bare ice and compacted snow, the grip was excellent. It never failed me, even in the most severe conditions. It remained reasonable even at -38°C. Now the elasticity is not the same, but this is a super worthy indicator. The only minus of the tire is that it is very loud, like a strategic bomber. It's quiet only on compacted snow. But I was warned about this when I bought it, and I knew what I was getting into. I would have replaced the tire, but it's time to change the car :) Would I buy it again? Rather yes than no.

Hello, I'd like to share my impressions of the Pirelli Ice Zero studded tires, size 185/60-15, made in Russia. The tires arrived in December and were immediately installed, it was the last day of positive temperatures, it was raining, and the next day it dropped to minus temperatures, which means black ice. I live on Sakhalin, in the town of Kholmsk, a city on the hills, on the same day we drove to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and back, one way at a speed of no more than 60, and back at 80, it was quite noisy, now it's much quieter, the mileage is over 2000 km, it holds well, it grips well on both snow and slush, compared to the Goodyear Ultra Grip 600, it's probably noisier, although it's not a fact, the car was different and the Goodyear tires after three years still have all the studs in place and grip well too, there were no problems, but there is one minus for Pirelli, compared to the Ultra Grip 600, they are noisy when turning, although that's just my opinion, after the winter I'll write a more detailed review, all the best.

I've been driving on studded tires my whole life, but last year I changed my car and decided that a four-wheel drive vehicle with a high center of gravity requires studded tires. Especially since I had plans to go to the ski resort. As a result, the plans came true and the tires performed perfectly on slippery and snowy roads with descents, ascents and turns. Very clear behavior, excellent handling and complete predictability. At first, the tires after summer were a slight hint of discomfort in terms of acoustics and behavior on dry asphalt at a temperature of around zero. But after running in, this impression completely disappeared. Now, I've already switched to winter tires again and I don't experience any discomfort. In general, I consider my first experience of driving on studded tires to be definitely successful.

Tires are quite noisy, due to the fact that the stud is trapezoidal and protrudes quite well. On ice, excellent traction with the road.
Protector is ideal, in snow it pulls like a bulldozer.

Good tire, but noisy. Although for winter it doesn't matter about noise, the main thing is confident and controlled handling with braking. It doesn't perform very well on ice. In the first winter itself, I flew, trying to turn into the yard and touched 2 cars... Most likely, I won't take it again due to the sad experience. But otherwise, it's soft and grips well. On a dry road, it doesn't skid. It's quite heavy compared to competitors.

The tire has one major drawback - noise on open asphalt. It's like flying a plane, but everything else is great - handling, braking, etc. Got used to it now, so it doesn't bother me anymore. I recommend. The price-to-quality ratio is acceptable.

I chose tires with modern studs to sit tightly in the tread and, in general, to hold the road well on snow.
