Tyre reviews Pirelli Winter Ice Zero 2 315

Overall, the tire is nice. It holds the winter road well with any tread!
Really quiet!
But I got the whooping balloons. I.e. the air leaks up and down while rotating at absolutely flat rims!
So all the impression was spoiled. I got tired of driving with a whooping wheel all winter. Consequently, balancing this issue was not possible. Although I balanced it four times.
Tires are extremely not budget-friendly.

The tire lives up to expectations so far, it is quiet and comfortable, and holds well even on asphalt. Ice and snow - I haven't tested it especially yet, but judging by the protector and tread, everything should be fine, so I can give it an advanced rating in this regard). There was only a light dusting of snow and a small patch of ice, but the tire handled it without any issues, which I wasn't surprised by. I've only lightly tested the studs so far

Exceptional handling, just exceptional.
Follow the steering wheel accurately in corners, respond precisely and quickly to driver inputs, and hold a straight line well. They are most comfortable at civil speeds in the range of 60-80 km/h: they glide softly, almost silently. After bedding-in, the sound of the tread blocks is only audible at low speeds on coarse asphalt and occasionally in corners. At speed, there is a low-frequency rumble from the tread, not too loud and

I won't be afraid to say these are the best winter tires I've ever had. With my extensive experience, the car behaves predictably, stably and reliably on any road. In good weather and road conditions, you can drive quite dynamically, smoothly and comfortably in the city. If the road and weather are average, tires allow you to cope with both black ice and snow.

The quietest (if you account for studs) and very comfortable tire. I drove over 10,000 km on them during the last winter and was satisfied with everything in fact. Very comfortable on the road, good behavior on the highway at high speeds. No issues with unclean roads or areas with a thin layer of asphalt. Good traction, confident passage on snow, excellent cornering.

Excellent tires. Previously, all possible European brands were installed, today for me - this is the best winter tires of all possible. On the same wave with Michelin. The tires are manufactured in the Russian Federation and, to be honest, I see no point in overpaying for tires made in the EU, if it's Pirelli. It does not make noise, holds the road excellently, snow and ice. My rating is 5 out of 5.

Great tires! Quiet and soft. They have their own nuances of behavior on asphalt, like any studs. But unlike other studded tires I was familiar with, they have a minimal noise level on asphalt. But of course, they show themselves fully in real winter conditions - snow, black ice and the like. They hold the car perfectly on the road, behave stably, and steer well, and they brake adequately. The sides are strong, and there are no cracks. The studs are also great

At speed, on dry, on wet asphalt in the cold (-5, -10, -20 degrees), excellent handling, brakes not very good (like all studded winter tires), on ice, in my opinion, performed poorly, of course better than non-studded, but here either good handling on dry and wet asphalt or good handling on ice. In a mess of mud and ice, it drives and handles very well.
By feeling, this is the studded tire that is closest to non-studded in terms of characteristics. For the city, where there are many sections with different surfaces, I would say an excellent option (dry and wet asphalt at negative and positive temperatures, puddles at a small plus, mixtures of mud, ice, and snow).
On complex terrain with an ice rut (in courtyards where the utility services stubbornly refuse to clean), it does not handle very well, the car can be pulled out of the edge into the rut with carelessness, but overall, I would say it's not bad. The tires always have some traction on any surface, and if you don't hang on your belly, this tire will allow you to exit without problems.
The tire is moderately stiff, not very noisy, driving is comfortable, after the tire warms up (after accelerations, braking, active maneuvers), the characteristics improve.
At high speed, it holds the road well and brakes fairly well, 140-150 no vibrations or rocking. 100 through puddles, without problems, deflects the car a few degrees off course towards the puddle, but does not lose traction.
At a positive temperature of around +3, the characteristics worsen, the car skids more and brakes worse.
Driving style is aggressive, dynamic, accelerations, braking, maneuvers, the tire handles well.
If you have a calm, vegetable driving style, lack of reaction, only reflexes (80% of drivers), it's easier for you to buy some cheap Chinese tire and not waste money, you won't feel the difference and will never fully reveal all the advantages of this tire. If you have four-wheel drive and an active driving style, I recommend 100%.

Where do so many enthusiastic reviews come from?!
I bought them in 2019 and drove until spring 24. The mileage is 90% highway. The tires were taken as a replacement for Nordman 4, which the salon handed over 2 sets when buying a car.
Of course, when compared to the 4th Nordman, IceZero2 is excellent tires, but in themselves, they are quite average tires. Yes, they handle well on wet asphalt, on dry, on a small snow, you can even say they handle perfectly, but I have snow lying for six months and for me, the behavior on ice and snow is more important, and the tires are positioned as winter ones.
When starting in frost (around 20 and more) on cold tires, they are not wooden, but the car handles poorly - skidding in turns, long braking distance, weak grip. And all this at city speeds.
When driving on the highway in snowfall/fresh snow, a lack of traction with the road surface is felt, when starting - wheel spin/very noticeable ESP operation.
Before the Insignia, I had a Focus 2, on which Michelin X North 2 stood in front, and Yokohama in the back - and this mix is head and shoulders better than these Pirellis.
Maybe it's not bad tires, but definitely not the top that comes out of reviews and tests (or maybe something was wrong with the first batches). Maybe the Focus chassis handled better, maybe this tire is not for our local conditions, maybe I drive too fast, but it's not my option, especially for such a price.

Three seasons, one of which was fully on asphalt. There were few spikes, the spikes themselves remained in good condition, did not break and did not wear down to zero, still hold well. This is despite the fact that one of my winters was actually almost snowless, and I drove on asphalt all winter. By the way, the spikes do not make much noise on asphalt. The tread wear will also allow me to drive another winter, on average I drive less than 10,000 km per winter. I am satisfied with the behavior of the tires, it's easy to climb icy hills and get out of icy ruts on them. They confidently pass through snow.
