Excellent tires, the same Continental but cheaper. Good grip on the road, low noise level.

In the winter of 2024, on the last weekend of November, when the Moscow and Smolensk regions were covered in snow, I had the pleasure of replacing my car's tires with Gislaved Ice Control the day before. The memories of Continental Icecontact 2 were still fresh, and I didn't make a mistake with my choice. During this heavy snowfall, with a sharp transition to subzero temperatures, I was on the road to Smolensk. Even on the first kilometers of the journey, the tire already showed its high class. At subzero temperatures, it perfectly ran in, all the studs were in place, and after 2-3 days, they stopped making noise even on asphalt. I really enjoyed it for two seasons. In the spring of 2026, I sold the car along with these tires. In total, on all four wheels, there were only 6 studs missing, and that was on the front wheels. The tires had a mileage of around 15,000 km.
All the misfortunes that buyers of this tire describe are in their own heads. October and early November 2025 were very warm, with temperatures reaching 10-12 degrees Celsius, and people were already driving on studded tires on city asphalt. I have a clear example: my friend bought a similar tire in October 2025, replaced it on his crossover, and after a week, half of the studs were gone. As it turned out later, he shouldn't have been speeding from a standstill and driving on warm Moscow asphalt. There are no miracles in the world. A winter tire is designed for subzero temperatures, and one should understand that when the asphalt is warm, the studs will be gone. One should be extremely careful during this period when driving on studded tires if they want to drive on them for a long time and happily. Or have another set of non-studded tires to meet the strong frosts. I specifically took a video for my friend who lost his studs, but I didn't take photos. Now I'll add a screenshot

It's interesting that at -25, it didn't become hard, but remained soft. The braking distance on rolled snow is short. Everything else is as usual.

By the end of that year, I chose a "gift" for my wife - IceControl. Diamonds didn't work out somehow - tires turned out to be more necessary ;) I stopped at studded tires, since our winters have frequent morning ice under the snow. After installation, I immediately noticed that my wife's car started more confidently: it starts moving calmly even on ice, and handling in turns became more predictable. On the highway at 90-100 km/h, she says that the studs are noticeable to the ear, but the noise does not irritate. It rides smoothly on clean asphalt, without discomfort. She especially liked how they hold on ice.

Now I've changed the tires, looked and saw that almost all the studs are still in place. The tires delight with stability and reliability.

No matter what anyone says, I'm satisfied with the purchase of this tire.. in two seasons, it has never let me down.. maximum loss of studs is 10 on four wheels with a mileage of 12,000.. a well-worn and durable tire.. due to my age, I no longer drive as aggressively as I used to, and I take extreme care of what I have.. I installed the tires in November 2024, when a stable minus temperature was established.. some acquaintances also have this tire.. it was their recommendation that led me to buy it.. it turned out that I had the most successful experience with it. One acquaintance's spouse drives a 300 horsepower car and regularly loses studs when starting, especially in warm weather.. another acquaintance's son, who drives a Kia Stinger, lost half of the studs because he doesn't know his limits and doesn't understand that you can't drive aggressively on studded tires on asphalt in warm weather. All problems come from people's minds..

In the last weekend of November 2024, I got caught in a snowstorm in the Smolensk region.. the tire can be called Great in terms of comfort and handling in harsh winter conditions..

The studs hold tight, over the winter only a couple flew out. On rolled snow, the car moves steadily. The hum from them is decent, especially on bare asphalt, but you can get used to it.

The season has driven, the flight is normal, you can buy boldly. The holder is normal, the sidewalls are strong, do not become woody in frost - everything you need for good tires

I bought a set of IceControl tires for my Insignia before the first frost. The first impressions are as if the car is "glued" to the road. The rubber is soft, but not "cottony". On ice, it steers predictably, on dry asphalt - it's quiet. The ride is mainly in the city, but I've driven on the highway twice for 300 km. Stability at speeds over 100 km/h is decent. Once I got into slush after a thaw - it grips as it should. It doesn't hum, doesn't pull. The braking distance in the mornings on icy sections - without sudden surprises. For an average driver like me, everything is fine, I haven't noticed any drawbacks.
