The beginning of the story

Second generation

Production of the updated version began in 2008. The main difference was the transverse arrangement of the power unit, as well as a liftback body. The base for the new product was the Volkswagen V6 platform. Note that the overall length of the car decreased, while the space in the cabin remained the same. This was achieved due to the new positioning of the engine under the hood.

The line of power units was represented by gasoline and diesel variations, including V6, a number of which were supplemented with turbines. The manufacturer constantly updated and modernized them. The most significant for the environment was the 1.6 turbo diesel, which consumed 4.4 liters per "hundred" in the combined cycle. Along with the mechanical transmission, a 6- or 7-speed robotic DSG began to be installed. The model was supplied with both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive.

Among the additional equipment, we can note the multimedia system with a touch screen, CD-changer, and 30 GB of built-in memory, bi-xenon headlights, a hatch with built-in solar panels, rain sensors, tire pressure sensors, and many others.

Third generation

In 2015, a new generation was presented, which slightly increased in size. Its forms became "predatory-sharp". The car received many modern systems that increased its comfort. The range of power units consists of gasoline engines 1.4-2.0 liters, as well as diesel engines 1.6-2.0 liters with turbines. Despite their small volumes, they are capable of producing significant power, ensuring fuel efficiency.

In 2019, a restyling was carried out, which updated the front of the car, on which matrix headlights appeared, the bumper and radiator grille changed. Among the systems, we can note the appearance of adaptive cruise control and wireless charging. The car also began to be equipped with a hybrid engine.
