The second generation saw the light in 2004. The car gained more impressive dimensions, which positively affected the comfort of the rear passengers. At the same time, it was based on a completely new platform. The power units also underwent changes. In particular, gasoline engines with direct fuel injection appeared on 1.6 and 2.0 liters. In addition, the line was supplemented with a turbocharged diesel engine, developing a power of 140 horsepower.

2008 was marked by another restyling. The car transformed, both externally and internally. A new engine with a volume of 1.4 liters, supplemented with a turbine, appeared. At the same time, in some versions, a robotic transmission began to be installed.

New Generation

In 2013, the next generation was presented, the third in a row. The car grew in size, becoming even more comfortable. Almost all nodes underwent changes, which led to improved manageability and reduced fuel consumption and increased power. Despite the intense continuity of Audi and Volkswagen, the "Octavia" retained its individuality. Note that the main mass of safety systems and controls were transferred from the 7th generation Golf. And among the power units, a two-liter diesel engine with a turbine appeared, which could produce 150 horsepower. Also worth noting is the 1.4-liter gasoline engine. Despite its small volume, it provided intense acceleration with low fuel consumption. During this period, the DSG transmission with a double clutch also appeared, which allowed minimizing the delay between gear shifts, making them completely invisible to the driver. This unit also had a positive effect on fuel economy.

The restyling of the third generation took place not so long ago, in 2017, and is the latest to date. The car's exterior has become even more "aggressive". It acquired an enlarged radiator grille, divided front headlights, which, in the opinion of some, began to resemble those of Mercedes. The car was again increased in size, as a result, it almost approached the larger models, for example, the "Superb".
