It wasn't until 1931 that the Swallow Coachbuilding Company (as the company was called at the time) was able to produce its own car. This was the stylish SS 1, which was available in several bodies. Its only weakness was the small engine power. However, the exterior design was beyond praise.

The Emergence of the Name

In 1934, the company was renamed SS Cars. But after some thought, the management changed it to SS Jaguar. This name would have survived to the present day if it weren't for World War II. To avoid reminding the world of fascism, the SS letters were removed from the name in 1945, resulting in simply Jaguar.

Further Development

In the post-war period, the company focused its activities on creating luxurious cars with a sporting character. The premium class niche became key for it, allowing it to significantly strengthen its position. Over several decades, several mergers and acquisitions took place, which strengthened the manufacturer's position. For example, the Daimler Motor Company was acquired.

Modern Times

Today, the manufacturer belongs to the Indian company Tata Motors. Despite this, the company continues to develop, not losing its English concept foundation. Recently, it has actively developed the electric vehicle sector, presenting several fully electric models. Additionally, the management announced that from 2025, the company will switch exclusively to producing "electric vehicles." One way or another, all vehicles require regular tire replacement and sometimes wheel replacement.
